No
no, we are smart and involved
I'm also very sure that everyone is very different and you can find any type of person on campus.
not everyone parties and a surprising number of people dont drink, and we are obnoxious but in a sportsman-like way
there will always be stereotypes any where you go
somewhat
The stereotype is accurate for some but as a whole I believe our campus is not like that.
No, I believe that there are many people that work hard here and school, and you will find people that do not work as hard at any college. I feel that although there needs to be more improvement here at UTK, there is adequate diversity. Coming from an all girls private school, I have met many people and been and many diverse situations that have broadened my horizons and enlightened me which will ultimately help me become a better person.
Maybe for some people but I wouldn't say the majority only parties and attends football games. Others are able to be supportive of our sports as well as get good grades.
yes
Yes
To an extent, I think so. We do party a lot at UTK, but we also know how to study, too!
Usually
Not really. Many people come to this school to fulfill the sterotype, but do not make it back the second year. But with 26000 students one is able to find the sterotype or avoid it.
YES
NO. I do not like to drink, nor do I like staying out all night.
I think there is some truth but for the most part people do work hard and care about their grades
Not true at all. We party just as much as other college kids and I find the curriculums very challenging.
Well, there are definitly a lot of students who come here to party, but those kids flunk out after their 1st year. Most students care about academics and have a good balance.
Yes, Very accurate.
Parts of the campus are ugly, like Humanities and Glocker but the Hill is beautiful. I do believe parts of knoxville have many bums but again other parts dont. UTK is a football campus defiinitely, but now we are basketball too
although our sports program is a big part of campus, so is our academics, the classes here present challenges and its very difficult to just get by without studying. It seems that all the students do is party, but it is usually a select group that parties and you see the same people all the time going out.
Yes and no. Yes UT has lived up to its party school reputation but not every student drink all the time. There a good number of students don't drink at all.
I think people misinterpret 'Big Orange Pride' for stupidity. If I never study, how have I maintained a 3.7 GPA? There are a lot of conservative Christians on campus, however the liberal side of campus is also a huge force.
not at all
For the most part, they are pretty true. However, like every school not everyones like that we have a wide variety of people that go here.
No, we are strong in academics too, we just get media coverage for our sports programs.
Absolutely not. I've met some of the smartest people I know here and I know a good number of people that don't party.
yes!
no. there are a few rednecks here and there, and we do like to party, but it's not as heavy as the stereotypes make it to be.
The first one is not. The second one is somewhat true. Many students just do not want to overload themselves with the hours necessary to graduate in time.
frats guy...to a point but the girls no!
I feel that the way UTK students behave are identical to how others behave at most all other universities. Students at UTK are very studious and they have to be. Most of the majors here have high requirements, especially the business school, nursing school, and law school.
Kind of. It doesn't apply to everyone
Not at all, although some people do this is a minority
no
Not fully.
Some of them!
Not at all. Everyone is Diverse
To an extent yeah
Football is very important but not like everyone makes it sound
There are 26,000 people here. There's some stereotype that every student falls under but it is impossible to say concretely that "these stereotypes are accurate"
for the most part, but there are more dimensions that go unnoticed
no. only about 60{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} drink i think?
Like any school, you can find the parties if you really want to. There's always someone having one, but there are also always people in the library studying and taking their classes seriously. And there are the people that are always studying and going to classes during the week and going to parties on the weekend. It just required finding a personnel balance between the two. College will be what the student puts into it. If you go to class and try to learn, you will. It's really very simple.
