The sheer size of the University. In order to properly accomodate for the masses of students, many bureaucratic processes have been put in place. These processes do increase the efficiency for the institution but depersonalize much of the interaction at the student to administration interface.

But, almost every time, it can be a major nuisance. When you're walking across the street to get to the building where your class resides, don't expect it to be a walk in the park. Most likely, there will be an annoying biker on your trail and you'll have to avoid it because they're not hesitant to hit and ram you like a raging bull.

When they call the University of Texas "forty acres" they are not joking! The campus is very large, with one wrong turn you could easily get lost. Yes the extra walk is a good exercise, but when trying to get from one place to another in a limited amount of time it can get stressful. However, as long as an individual sticks to a certain route and focuses on the destination they are walking towards, everything should be fine.

One of the most frustrating parts of UT is that it can be fairly difficult to change your major. You have to wait at least a semester before doing this, so this might set you back even more on graduating than if you could change majors when you wanted to.

The school is enormous! I can deal with the amount of work I have by simple scheduling, but how can I overcome the size?! I'm not very comfortable with bikes, so that is out of the solution. I would have to run to my next class I have back to back. At least it's good exercise.

The size of the university is the most frustrating. You're surrounded by a lot of people, but you feel alone. Getting from class to class is a hassle. Everything's so spread out that the 10 minutes you get to transfer to class never feels like enough. It's a constant struggle, especially whenever there are people that decide that stopping in the middle of an intersection is necessary. You see different people everyday going through the same struggles as you are- it makes you feel a little better knowing that you aren't as alone as you feel.

The most frustrating thing about the University of Texas at Austin would be registration. As a freshman, you registrar last, after the seniors, juniors, and sophomores, respectively. It can be difficult getting into the classes you want to take the first two semesters; however, once you aren't a freshman anymore, registration becomes a much less stressful event.

The school spirit is fair weather. Also, they spend a lot of money on making things look good, but not as much as they should on their students and activities other than sports.

The most frustrating thing would probably have to be the traffic since there are so many people around. This isn't necessarily the school's fault but it does make things harder to get around.

What I found most frustrating was just being able to contact professors when I needed help or advice. They were often not available during their stated office hours, or they would refer you to their T.A. for help.

Nothing besides the cost to attend. Many students can afford it, but for someone who's lower-middle middle class, the aid we get is a small amount and due to family circumstances, college is hard to finance for me.

I think it can be frustrating that it is so big. Get involved with an honors program or freshman transition program to make it smaller.

I do not have a lot to complain about my school. The only kind of bad thing about the University of Texas at Austin is that it is so huge. Getting from one class to the next on time can be a challenge if your classes are far away from each other. For this reason, many people ride bikes to get to their next classroom, so I have to constantly watch out that I do not get run over by a bicycle.

The most frustrating thing about The University of Texas at Austin is how big the campus is! It is inevitable that I have at least two classes back to back that are on opposite sides of the campus. I realize that I am in charge of making my schedule but sometimes, you don't have that many options. Since adding an in-campus shuttle system is not feasible, I think that giving the students a few more minutes in between classes is the best solution to this issue.

The most frustrating thing about my school is the cost and financial aid. Last year, I was given a tuition exemption as a valedictorian. Because this brought my financial need down, some of the grants I originally was awarded were taken off of my financial aid package. I did not mind this change until this year, for I no longer have that tuition exemption. The advisor merely pressed a lot of buttons on the computer without informing me of the consequences of accepting the exemption. Now, this year, I am still $7,000 short of what I need.

The one frustrating thing about my school is that before you get familiar with your classes the campus is so easy to get lost in. Luckily I learned of the iPhone app that has a map of my school within my first week so I did not suffer as much as I know other freshmen did.

This university is blessed with so much diversity and multiple organizations on campus. It is wonderful, but aggravating because there are so many to choose from, that I am overwhelmed. It is hard to choose one organization and stay with it. Every organization has several perks and will offer great leadership opportunities, but it is impossible to be a part of all of them, even the ones pertaining to my major. I feel like I'm missing out on opportunities because I can't manage to be in a lot of organizations and study sufficiently as a full -time student.

The most frustrating thing about my school is my inability to afford it. Legally, I am dependent, but I am not receiving any help from my parent and have little contact with him. UT is not very understanding because there are so many students and so many people have special circumstances.

One of the most frustrating things about the school was tailoring a schedule that would not involve a constant cross-campus trek between classes. It seemed like every semester I would have my first/third/fifth classes all on one side of the campus and my second/fourth classes on the exact opposite of class. That left little time for dawdling or greetings when passing peers you rarely got to see. The only benifit of this was never really gaining a freshman fifteen.

Definitely the parking situation. Parking on campus is non-existant, and purchasing a parking pass is ridiculously expensive.

The most frustrating thing about this school is that some of the classes are so large that the professor cannot give equatl attention to each student. Because I am used to smaller schools, this will take a while to get accustomed to.

The most frustrating thing about UT is finding a way to stand out. In high school, it was fairly easy to stand out, whether you were a good athlete or in the top 10 percent of your class. EVERYONE at UT is intelligent and has an outstanding resume, so you're competing with the best of the best. Not only is it frustrating, but it's also refreshing to be surrounded by such outstanding students.

I would say the size of the campus. UT Austin is massive, and it can take quite awhile to get from here to there. Whether you are traveling from one class to another, or journeying from your apartment to the library, it is often quite a trek. This problem can be solved somewhat if you choose to live on campus. However, you may still face the dilemma of figuring out how to not be late to your academic pursuits when there are only 10 ten minutes in between classes.

When your a freshman, it can be overwhelming to have your first class have 500 students in them. It is frustrating to know that your just a number. But a way to overcome that is by going to your professors office hours and introducing yourself.

Thus, it is sometimes hard to make more connections with people than it would be at a smaller school. I was lucky to be put into a cohort for my degree. It was not until this time that I made deep, personal connections with other students I went to school with. Lack of opportunities in terms of language learning, and diversity in languages offered, and poor quality of language teaching in available languages. Students are much less motivated towards change or alternate ideas/lifestyles or to social activities outside of drinking and academics than their counterparts of the 1980s and early 1990s. Life models in drawing classes, opportunities to show/see student work is of a lower quality than in the 1990s. Its impossible to start a new student organization on campus.

The most frustrating thing about this university is registering for classes. The way you register classes is by class year and last name, so freshmens always have the last choice in registering. By the time freshmens and even sophomores register, majority of the classes are full, making it tough to get into classes, even if they are major related . This not only makes you upset, but it brings stress to you because you have to constanty worry about getting into your waitlist class and even then sometimes you cannot get into the class. you wanted.

The most frustrating aspect about UT is honestly the city itself. What I mean is the campus has few things to do within walking distance and those near by are expensive. This gives you 2 options: Drive or Take a Bus. Driving is expensive if you live on campus and parking is difficult as well. Taking a bus is cheap, but confusing. I am from a fairly small town that does not have public transportation and i have found that capital metro's website misses stops and is all around confusing.

Sometimes it is hard to sign up for classes because classes fill up quickly depending on your major.

I am fairly mellow, but if I had to choose, it would be that the PCL is cold. Also, everything on-campus is over priced.

Typically, you have to walk everywhere, even with buses running because they don't run on the weekend. This isn't so bad in the spring and fall but it's no fun in the winter and summer (both of which last the longest) and the school is so spread out you are constantly traveling both up- and downhill.

There is absolutely nothing frustrating about the University of Texas. At the beginning I was unsure about attending this university because it was not my first choice. Now that I am here I came to realize that there is no other university I would have rather attended. There is always someone to lend a helping hand or give a friendly smile. My professors and advisors are easy to talk to as well. The people are great, atmosphere is great, and there is always something new to learn about what the campus has to offer and the culture of Austin.

Getting around from class to class on time can be quite difficult. With such a large campus, if you have back to back classes each on opposite ends, its incredibly frustrating (and the Texas heat doesn't make that any more fun).

I would not say its a frustrating thing but how big the University of Texas is. But i think that is a good trait in my college, because it gets you ready for how the real world is going to look like and how competitive it is.

Registering for classes is the most difficult, especially as an undergraduate student. You must see your academic advisor well in advance to plan out your upcoming classes in order to register on time. Registering on time doesn't always mean you will have a spot in the class. Classes fill up way too quickly even though the school saves spots for different registering times.

The most frustrating thing about UT is not the administration, the registration process, or even the academically strenuous honors classes, it is the parking situation. Being located in the busy city of Austin means a limited number of parking spots. This issue is not unmanageable though. My advice ? buy a parking permit for the garage closest to your dorm.
