Sports is the most popular student group. Their are sororities but I believe 2 main ones to choose from but you don't live together. Utep does not house sororities or fraternities. So if your looking for either or I would research it more.
Since it is such a big school i have not encountered a list of the most popular groups, because every organization is given equal opportunity to flourish. But when it comes to Activities UTEP is awesome at physical activity, for example swimming, rock climbing, zip lining, hiking, and many more but i find myself immersed in these activities because they are social and fun.
Don't know
i have never joined any of those groups but sororities and that kind of groups are popular. football and mens basketball are big events on campus. guest speakers are not very popular. i met my closest friends in orientation and in class, where you spend more time with them. if im awake at 2 in the morning im probably studying till my eyes bleed. there is minerpalooza every year, and its like a big set up to introduce the football team and they have games and food and stuff for the whole family. there is also a contest for sororities(very fun). thursday, friday, and saturday are party days for a lot of students. I went out partying last friday and rested on saturday as well as reading my textbook every now and then.
Theres always a guest speaker on campus
