Overall, Tidewater Community College is a well balance school. From young recent high school graduates to older career involved individuals, TCC does an outstanding job propelling students to reach their academic goals to get started in their career fields or professionally develop oneself. Their slogan: "From here, go anywhere" holds much truth. Students can transfer to a multitude of Virginia colleges to further their education.

Tidewater is a great opportunity and choice to start your education journey. It's very affordable and provides a variety of opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to pursue there educational dreams. Majority of the teachers I encountered care much for the students and want them to thrive. This is the best choice, especially if transferring to a four year University or College.

Tidewater Community College is great place to start your higher education. You're receiving the same education as you would at a 4 year college/university for a lot cheaper. They have great resources on and off campus to help students excel in academics. There are also plenty of organizations to be apart of and to make a difference. Professors are also very helpful and they can be easily reached. They also have plenty of scholarships for students and other financial help for students.

Overall it is a very good school. The tuition is very affordable, and there are many opportunities to receive financial aid without having to take out loans. Applying for scholarships is very easy through TCC's website. There are many opportunities to earn certificates and job-training as well, which is very helpful for people who would rather not spend years in school. Class sizes are mostly pretty small and not much larger than the size of a high school class, which creates an environment where students can feel comfortable asking questions from the professor and makes communication among classmates easy. The administration is very friendly and helpful most of the time. There are programs that offer free tutoring for students with troubles, and they are very helpful. Tidewater Community College is very good for non-traditional students; there are childcare services for parents who have to bring their children and workshops that help with things from resume making to study skills.

TCC is a great two-year college, especially for the Arts. TCC's Visual Arts Center in Portsmouth, Virginia is a state of the art facility housing Photography, Graphic Design, Studio Arts, Pottery, Glass Blowing, and more. The student life at the Visual Arts Center is vastly different from that on the traditional campuses. While the VAC does not house facilities for food, a bookstore, or traditional college administrative offices, it does provide a wonderfully creative environment with an on-site art gallery, it's own Art Magazine and state of the art labs and facilities.

Tidewater Community College is a great environment for graduated high school students to figure out whether or not they want to attend a four year college. A lot of graduating high school students aren't exactly sure what to expect out of college, TCC really helped me figure out if college was for me. TCC is also a great place for students to figure out what kind of degree they want, for much cheaper than a four year college. Students are able to explore different classes freely, without the hefty price that four year universities charge. Overall, the campuses are clean and modern. All of the campuses have been newly renovated, and have multiple resources for students, like cafeterias, Starbucks, computer labs, testing centers, libraries, tutoring centers, and even child care. The instructors, at least in my experience, are some of the best professors in the area. All of my instructors have been passionate about their subject, and have influenced the classroom environment greatly. Most instructors are available 24/7 for questions and concerns via email, phone, or during class. The class sizes at TCC are normally small in number, and classrooms in the newly built buildings have computers at each desk. TCC also offers a lot of online courses. I have taken multiple online courses, and have enjoyed them greatly. Most online classes entail a discussion board, quizzes, and other assignments. Online classes are perfect for individuals with full-time jobs, children, or odd work schedules. Tidewater Community College offers a great learning environment for all students.

Tidewater Community College is a good college which is assisting me in furthering my education. After some soul searching I have come to realize with my adviser where I want to be within the next 2 years. It has helped me to gain confidence that I can reach my goal and has helped to direct me in the proper direction where I do feel if I had to do alone i would be lost. The are really great and helpful even when something goes wrong with your tuition assistance. Overall I would say A- since there is always room for improvement!

Overall, Tidewater Community College is alright. It's definitely the college to got to if you just want to get some classes out of the way, but definitely not for the "college experience." There's not many clubs to join and as far as socializing goes, unless you're a 30-year-old man who enjoys to interrupt the class to make a crude comment, don't expect much. Professors are great though! Just have to find the right ones.

My overall opinion of Tidewater Community College is that it is a great place to learn, most of the professors there are easily accessible and are easy to talk to. I actually work at the Chesapeake campus student center and have really enjoyed my time there, the other students are around my age and I have made many friends in the past two years here. The activities that I usually partake in throughout the week are basketball which is the main thing that most students participate in and football on the weekends. Also, there are many events that Tidewater has for their students to participate in throughout the week so there is basically always something to do not to mention the gaming center and fitness rooms. Overall I would suggest anyone coming out of high school or wanting to start their college career to go to Tidewater Community College. With their friendly and welcoming atmosphere this is a great place for a student to gain their associates in a technical degree or if you plan on transferring to a four year institution.

I truly enjoyed my time at Tidewater Community College. It's a small campus without much school involvement, but as a money saver and stepping stone to a four-year university, it cannot be beaten. Professors are passionate and classes sizeable to promote genuine learning
