Tiffin University Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Kelsey

The most frustrating thing about my school is the use of funds. Certain things are not necessary and the money used for them could have been used to fund a school curriculum program.

Sarah

The complaint that you hear the most is that there is nothing to do. The city is smaller, with not a lot of shopping or entertainment. But, if you are looking for something to do, you can most likely find something.

Tiffin University is a private school, which means tutition can be costly. Thankfully in high school I received very good grades, and was awarded one of the highest scholarships Tiffin University could offer. Unfortunately that still leaves me to pay about 8,000 out of pocket a year. Finacially I am struggling, my parents are not supportive of me going to college due to the cost, so they do not pay for any of my education. If Tiffin was less expensive, it would be perfect for me.

The most frustrating thing about Tiffin is the same problem with all the other Universities out there--not enough financial aid. The "aid packages" rarely come close to meeting needs, which, in my case, is exactly $24,353.00. They directed me to a host of scholarship websites that I already knew about, and a few I did not. These have few true profile fits. Even a few wins won't come close to that amount. So, I contacted financial aid again and they told me to ask for local government and employer aid. Not very realistic, thought I.

There is no public transportation that is easily accessible to students. This proves to be a problem when you are from Alaska and did not bring a car with you. However, the students are incredibly helpful and understand the need to go to Walmart and often offer to help you out. The fact that the town is far from everything else can drive some people crazy but if you keep your wits about you and find ways to entertain yourself.

I wish Tiffin University offered more programs and higher degree levels. They only offer a Bachlor's Degree and in order for me to get the degree I want(Doctorate Degree) I have to transfer to another school for that.

I hate being on my own. The reason I ended up in Ohio instead of Michigan is my major now is Forensic Science. I am changing my major to Nursing because I do not like it here and I do not like the Professors. In my opinion they are rude and know it alls.

Felishia

I am not very good at writing papers, and a lot of classes are writing intensive courses.

i AM REALLY NOT FRUSTRATED ABOUT ANYTHING.. I AM HAPPY WITH MY CLASSES AND MY DORM, THE COLD WEATHER IN THE WINTER IS MY ONLY FRUSTATION.

The most frusterating part of going to Tiffin University is there is little to do in the town. There are few restaurants and most are not chain restaurants such as Applebee's. There is nowhere to shop other than Walmart and a very small JCPenney's. Many students turn to drinking as a form of entertainment and this may be because of the lack of other activities to do around town. Many students drive 25 minutes to Findlay, Ohio just to eat at a nice restaurant. This is the most frusterating thing at my school.

Raymond

There is not much to do on campus.
