I think Trinidad State Junior College is the ideal place to go if you are looking for a more connective school. Our classrooms may be small but there are a lot of great events that occur in and around them. Our sports teams have close connections and relationships, basically a family. We all experience fast and knowledgeable help from all the college staff. The Staff will help you and accommodate any inconveniences you may have with the best results possible.

4th rate. Remedial. Dumbed-down. The worst teacher, so far, could barely speak English. Her "teaching" consisted of racing through power point presentations of the text book, talking WAY too fast, and mispronouncing all the three syllable words. It was horrible. The best one, so far, is excessively positive and practically cheers "Good Job!" every time I know what a word means. It's quite insulting. It's embarrassing to be a student here, but there isn't anything better.

My degree plan is an specialized Applied Sciences not listed or common. Gunsmithing is the program and Trinidad Junior State College is known for being the best. The higher rate is extremely high and prominent. I researched all my options for this degree plan and it stood out from the other two I found. The admittance per semester is small, as is the class to teacher ratio. Initially I did not get accepted, and that devastated me. Luckily I was accepted for the following semester, which worked out for the best. It gave me a chance to evaluate whether or not this was my decided degree plan and if I had the resilience to try again. The instructors are great and so are my classmates. We began together and will graduate at the same time. This has helped us build a tight bond. I would definitely recommend this school for all students interested in gunsmithing.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell my high school self to keep up the good work! You made excellent class choices in high school to advance your college start. Now don't give up! When college gets hard, keep trying. Don't miss class, talk to your professors if you need help or you don't understand. I would also tell myself to pick a smaller school. I feel I struggled with large university auditorium classes. Too impersonal and didn't fit my personality. Work on being outgoing, what have you got to lose, but a missed oppurtunity. Keep persuing your dreams they will soon be a reality!
