Our school is known for being a wonderful community college. The teachers are absolutly wonderful and really let studunt's adademic abilitys shine through in the essays and in class discussion. We are also known for having a lizard as a mascot, however, I don't think we've named him yet.

My school is best known for their health programs such as nursing and dentistry.

I have not yet attended any classes at Truckee Meadows Community College. I am not from Nevada. I thought it would be the best school for me because I could easily transfer to a university to complete my bachelor degree.

My advice to prospective students at Truckee Meadows Community College is go into college knowing what you want out of life, and as you journey through your college experience the road to your future will unvail itself. Be ready to work hard, feel proud, and show your collegues that you have what it takes to succeed.

Outstanding nursing program.

Truckee Meadows is known for its great transfer agreement with the University of Nevada, Reno. They provide an inexpensive alternative to university prices, and advise you of the best ways to make a transfer from community college to the university as easy as possible. The classes are much smaller then the typical university classes making the learning environment more comfortable to ask question, and get the answers you need easier. Many other great resources are provided, such as online classes, a large library, and great tutoring.

Hard Work

Well, at the University of Nevada, Reno, most students refer to TMCC as being the "Ugly Step-Sister" school. Though I find it comical, I oppose that statement. TMCC offers an outstanding nursing program that offers a 2 year degree and promises an RN career upon completion. They hold excellent theatrical performances and an exquisit art gallery by very well rounded students. The campus grounds-circle outside is absolutely beautiful and a perfect setting in early fall, and spring to do assignments. It is cosy and comfortable with plenty of elbow room, not to mention the fresh air smells wonderful.

My school is best known for offering the same classes as the University of Nevada but offering them for about 50 dollars cheaper! You also get the advantage of smaller class sizes and teachers who are more willing to meet individually.

Truckee Meadows Community college gives students a chance to start a career at an affordable cost. They offer a large variety of classes and even offer employment for students in need of financial assistance.
