I feel like TJC was the right fit for me to start off my college journey. I have a knee injury and they help make things very assessable for me. And the teachers try to maintain strict rules and deadlines to give that bigger college feel so for those who want to transfer won’t be blindsided once they transfer to bigger schools. I love the sports life. All teams are very supportive of each other and the dance team is amazing.

I love Tyler Junior College! This is my first semseter at TJC. I am online due to living hours away this semster but my online professors that I email daily are excellent and I have no problems. I would reccomend TJC to anyone becasue in person and online is really excellent.

Tyler Junior College is a great starting point for college life. Their tuition and classes are relatively affordable, and their classes are pretty simple to follow. You can attend this college both online, in a classroom, or a hybrid of these two. High school students even have the opportunity to join a dual-credit associate's degree program. This program allows high school students (like me) to graduate with their associate's degree when they finish high school.

I love making friends, your classes are flexible, your advisor helps you to get your classes and helps you to get your degree requirements met and asks questions in a kind way.

Tyler Junior College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Tyler Junior College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Tyler Junior College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

In high school I was not only involved in everything but also a leader of most of the programs. I was a top student academically so high school is a great memory for me. When graduation came all of my friends went straight out of high school to big time Universities and so my choice to attend a Junior college was something that embarrassed me. Going back and talking to my high school I would remind myself to be proud to be able to attend college and not be embarrassed. I would want to remind myself that a college education is something most people cannot receive for many reasons and that college is a place where you get to live your dreams and become all that you can and not live in the past but use the past to guide my future. Now I know it was the best decision I could have made to attend Tyler Junior College. It is a great school and is something I am now proud of. I will graduate in the spring with my Associates and will then move to a University to continue my education in becoming a Registered Dietitian.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about my school is the classroom settings. I understand its college but if you're a proffessor and you're trying to help teach PLEASE teach me in a correct manner than with a "I Don't Care" attitude. Some of the proffessors or rude which makes me uncomfortable in class because i am going to school to work on getting a degree not to be messing around.

Tradition and great teachers! getting help from the teachers and staff is so easy and makes you really want to learn! They never leave you "in the dark". The tradition makes me more proud of the school because it makes me feel "at home" and comfortable with the other students and faculty.

  7. What's unique about your campus?

The staff are remarkably nice. I have never encountered an institution that was so cleverly put together with such good people with the best intentions of the students and making them feel welcomed and successful. This, of course, reflects hope on the students who may question hope in succeeding in getting an education or something more personal in their lives.

  10. Describe the students at your school.

Most of my classmates at Tyler Junior College are definitely up-tight. They don't really talk much and also when you try to to meet up with them for studying or just help in general in class they seem as tho they have better things to do than to be worried about a dumb freshman.

  11. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

What's unique about TJC is it is not overly crowded. Some schools just have too many students and so you do not get to know your professors too well, but at TJC the classes are small and so you can have a good relationship with your professors. This will allow you to not be afraid if you are needing help and if you don't understand the subject.
