United States Military Academy Top Questions

You need to be a humble person to attend this school because you will mess up something at some point.

People who have issues with authority should not attend my school.

The United States Military Academy takes a special kind of personality to succeed. A person looking to come to this school should not have a fear of failure. It also takes a submission to the code of conduct at the Academy. While curiosity can be expressed in some forms, a person must become a member of the corps of cadets and cannot be a standalone individual. A person must also be able to respect authority at all times, if they cannot they will have a very hard time dealing with the structure at the Academy.

If you have a passion for art, music, or drama this school is not for you. There is a huge focus on science and engineering. You will have very limited (if any) oppurtunities to develop or practice your passion.

Someone who is determined, loves a challenge, well-rounded in every aspect of being a person. The school is probably the most challenging and demanding that a person could probably ever endure. Most individuals who come to West Point have never known failure in their life, and when they came they fail in at least one area.

Anyone who does not want to serve in the military. Also, anyone who might be considered a "hippie" or someone that has a very laid-back mentality. The school is rigorous and one needs strong willpower to succeed.

Each student must strive to succeed and be willing to be a servant to the nation.

One who doesnt want to be in the military

Someone who is extremely outspoken. Ive seen all types of personalities here, and all have the ability to succeed. Quiet, shy, outgoing or whatever. If your goal is to get wasted everynight and party hard then this def. isnt the place. However, when we go out, we go all out to make up for lost experiences we would have had in normal school. Also not a lot of females here. So don't plan on coming in and "cleaning house" in that department.

Someone who emotionally reacts to problems and cannot just take it and move on.
