I would have to say is that make sure the kids feel comfortable with the college. Go and see the college a few times at least twice and do an overnight too. Also if the kids have an interest or know what they wanna do for a major look into the schools with the major on its top pirority first then look at other schools that have the same major. Also the college should be the kids choice not the parents, its there education and there life there going to live let them enjoy it.

to potential: students: this is a great college with a great community. small classes hands on learning with an eye on its environmental impact. why even the locals are friendly :) its an excellent place to be, particularly if you wish to major in some sort of environmental field. to the parents: we all take care of each other here, there may not be any shuttles but we do have carpools. this is a safe place to learn and grow and even have a little fun!
