The most important thing that I would tell the my highschool self would be to first look more into your highschool catalogue to get a class diversity. To choose classes that interest you and not what friends are taking. Next I would tell my self to be more sensative to the emotions of others and if you see a person in need try to help them. And next to last I would tell my highschool self to take the classes more seriously and to take superb notes to understand the concepts and fundamentals better. Finally I would say to research and sign-up for scholarships cause it can help in the long-run in your educational career.
I would tell myself to start planning for College, and don't wait until the last minute. The sooner I start the better the opportunities I will have. I would also tell myself to take this last year of school VERY serious. College is only what someone makes of it, don't go to a school that I don't want too, because I will regret everyday I'm there.
Please think about job for a career not just a job for today to pay the bills
As a high school senior, I would advise myself to prepare sooner for college because I never knew how hard it would be to move to a different state miles away from home to further my education. I had to move to a very busy place that I was very unfamiliar with, find a job, find an apartment, and learn what it is like to work and go to school. I wish that I had saved money from the odd jobs that I had while I was in school so that I would have a little bit of savings to help get me through the transition of working and paying my way through school. I never understood why my mom worked so much but never seemed to have any money until I was on my own and had bills of my own to pay. I realize now the difficulty of life and how much you have to sacrafice in order to pursue what you want in life.
Life is about taking steps, and finding out who you are. If you fall down, get back up and keep trying. It is better to try than to quit. It may take you time to find out who you are, and what you want to do in life. It is a journey that is well worth taking. Do what you can and try to accomplish your goals. Enjoy what you make of your life. In the end you will find that everything you have done was well worth it.
I would have worked a liitle harder to save money so that paying living expenses and trying to go to school wasn't so hard. I also would have planned on going to college a little sooner instead of waiting till after I had graduated because maybe I could have received more scholarships if I had applied sooner.
