What is your overall opinion of this school?

Patricia

The best thing for me is the proximity to home, but there's also the different people you can meet and socializa with. The one thing I would like to change is that some teachers don't like technology and I think that technology is an important part of our learning experience nowadays. I think that the school is just the right size, nor too small or extremely large, is close to lots of places, you have books stores and photocopy places really close and you also have numerous places to eat in and out of campus at reasonable prices. There have been some people preoccupied with the increase in the school's tuition, but even though there have been some adjustments the schools it's still the best school academically in the country and also with the less expensive tuition.

The best thing about my campus is the fact that it offers studies in almost every area known to man. It offers prospective students much flexibility in deciding what they want to study. The one thing I'd change is the focus on financing the projects solely on the Natural Sciences and Business Administration and just amplify it so it can cover areas such as the Humanities and the Liberal Arts as well. In my opinion, the school is rather big and its easy to lose your way. But personally, I enjoy big open spaces so I don't mind. Some people react in awe when they find out that I study there because its a rather picky school in terms of admissions when you compare it to the private institutions that let in almost anyone that can pay the tuition. On the other hand, some react negatively because my school has been subject to many student strikes and civil disobedience, which most people find it not agreeable. I spend most of my time in the nearby shops, cafes and bookstores nestled tight around the campus grounds. The school's administration could do much better in possibly every area that they have jurisdiction. The worst is that they pretend to consult the faculties and the students of all sorts of issues that affect everyone but in reality the administrative board does not take heed of recommendations and counsel and acts very arbitrarily. The biggest controversy right now is the appalling increasing number of sexual harassment cases going around campus in almost any hour of day. There is a very strong school sentiment and pride coming from the student body. Especially when it comes to local and national sports competitions. The "unusual" of this school might be in its diverse array of student and faculty. There is no one "mold" to witness. New comers might become over-whelmed by the striking diversity. I've always remember my first day as freshman. The senior classes always pull pranks and jokes on the newcomers. The most frequent student complaints are the continued lack of doing something concrete about the many harassment and robberies that go on at school. The guards are not very handy in dealing with this disturbances.
