University of Akron Main Campus Top Questions

The school I am currently attending has very welcoming staff, students enjoy going to school at the University of Akron. When I first went to the University of Akron, I felt at home.

I attended the medina campus. I did not like the fact that it was local kids that I grew up with because, it felt like I was back in high school. I did like the fact that the classes were small and you were more connected with your professor.

One of the best things about Akron is the size of campus. Overall the campus has many buildings and features which makes it feel like a large university. On the flip side, a walk across campus only takes 5-15 minutes depending on which direction is being traveled.This compact layout mixes the best of large universities with community schools. School pride is something that has grown since I have been a student but would be nice to see evolve. Akron's soccer team won the national title in recent years which is something that helped bring students together. Personally, I really enjoy school at Akron and can't wait to see what happens in the future. Since I have been a student 4 or 5 buildings have been added to campus and 1 demolished to make room for future additions. The University of Akron is a great place to go to school and get involved. Things are only looking up for Akron.

Overall, the University of Akron is a great school. I love meeting new people and getting to know them. I feel like my school is just right. It's not too big or too small. It definitely feels like home. I usually spend my time in Library or in my dorm. There is a LOT of school pride. Akron has done a great job this year athletic wise.

I initially did not want to attend The University of Akron, but it was what my family could afford. With that being said, it was a real eye-opener when I ended up really enjoying going here. I expected it to be just like high school because that is what most people said about it, but I really enjoy it, and it is not exactly like high school. It is in a city, and I really like that because I like being around lots of people instead of secluded in the country where you do not see as many people. Being in a city is important for me, and The University of Akron is definitely in the city. For me, the campus is just the right size. With all this being said, my overall opinion is that I absolutely enjoy attending classes here.

I enjoy being here at The University of Akron emensily. There are so many ways of meeting new people and new experiences through their numerous clubs and activities that are constantly taking part in new various activities both on and off campus. Another thing I really like about Akron is our sports teams and the fans. Soccer is a big sport here at Akron because we have a great team. But not only do we have great athletes but we have great fans; no matter what the weather try are there to cheer on the Roos! The staff and professors are some of the most amazing and versatile group of people pull every meet. They are all so helpful and only want the best for the students!

The administration at the University of Akron Main Campus are helpful and care about the students who attend. Administration goes out of their way to make students feel at home, I am grateful to attend a school where employees make students feel like they matter!

I love U of Akron. It's really science focused, which is why I decided to come here. Plus, it's a very good amount and quality of schooling for the money. There's always something for you to do around campus, with sporting events, movie nights, performances at EJ Hall, and tons of other activities. There's definitely a lot of pride about our school that many others don't have!

Best thing about the school is the dorms. One thing I would change is the on campus dining. My school is just the right size. When I tell people I go th The University of Akron they usually say that school is ghetto. On campus im usually in the polsky building. Thats were most of my classes are. Akron is not a college town, but it continues to grow. Overall, I think the administation is great. The recent controversy on campus was Jim Tressel is now the Vice President of Strategic Engagement. There is a lot of school pride. I don't think there is anything unusual about the school. One experience I will always remember is how nice and considerate my first academic advisor was. Most frequent complaints from students is they don't like the people that go her.

UA is an excellent school. Our men's soccer team have been the national champions for the past couple of years, and many of our students have even followed them to the championship game in California. Akron is a pretty standard college town. If you look hard enough, you'll find a party. If you don't want to party, you don't have to. UA is just the right size; it only takes about fifteen minutes to walk from the furthest point on either end of the campus to the other.

As far as academics go, UA has an excellent engineering program as well as psychology. Many of my professors have written the textbooks used by multiple other schools, so I'd say we have some pretty outstanding professors who know what they're talking about. UA is just the right size; it only takes about fifteen minutes to walk from the furthest point on either end of the campus to the other.

The University of Akron can be summed up in one word, big. It is a huge campus and can be a hassle to traverse at times. With careful consideration on when and where to park however, it gets quite a bit easier.

My overall opinion of my school is a great one. I love everything about it! I chose it for my major's highly regarded program and I do not regret the decision one bit. The student life is very involving, on and off campus. Everyone here has tremendous school spirit and I'm sure they love it here as much as I do.
