Our campus is part of the community and is not a community within itself.

The location and surrounding environment is probably the most unique aspect of my university (Alaska.).

It's in Alaska....can't get more unique than that.

It is located in Alaska, what more can I say? You are in a bowl, surrounded by beautiful mountains on one side, and an icy inlet on the other. I guess it is mostly the scenery and culture that makes UAA captivating.

Well I didn't really consder any other schools because UAA is the only school in Alaska that offers the Dental Hygiene program. I believe what makes UAA unique is the diversity of the students from all over Alaska and many other places.

There is a great relationship between professors and students and the student /teacher ratio is very low.

The outdoor campus is located near the base of the mountains. There is beautiful scenery year-round and moose are frequent visitors during the fall and winter seasons. The school is located directly across the street from the main hospital in Anchorage, which provides excellent access during nursing internships. The campus layout is very open and is spread over several blocks. It reminds me of my high school and is very refreshing to me, as I do not enjoy being cooped up inside all day, every day. Overall, this school was the perfect choice for me.

UAA is the largest University in Alaska, and it offers a range of diversity in its people and ideas that might not be found at many other schools.

It was comparable, academically, but for tuition and fees were so low.

Something unique about the University of Alaska Anchorage is simply that it is in Alaska. Being a student here opens up many doors to new experiences and opportunities. There is so much to do, everything from shopping at the 5th Avenue Mall to climbing glaciers. There is something for everyone here!

The location is unique. We are the most northern state college in the US.

This is the only school I have considered in Alaska.

Students are very active in extracurricular activities. UAA is very proud of students? accomplishments. Most teachers, when asked, will try their hardest to help students. Tuition cost is not nearly as much as other colleges. We have a very diverse set of degree majors, minors, and certificates for most anyone.

When reviewing the graduation satistics and drop our rate, my college report card shows outstanding students and caring professors and attentive team members. Professors are well versed in the culture of Alaska, sensative to the weather and understanding to the geographical layout of the area. Web based instructors understand the internet students and are observant to blizzard conditions in one village and the poor quality of band with, yet are also observant to students in other cities with good weather and are able to carry on the class. We have talented professors who teld to all diverse nationalities and needs.

This school is diffrent from the other schools that I considered because of its proximity to state parks and secluded outdoors. Alaska is realy the last frontier. In just ten minuets are student can drive into any one of our states numerous parks, hiking trails, or forests.

It is in the North and includes studies and education of Alaska Native peopels. Alaska is not the easiest environment to live in but the university tries it's best to incorporate diversity and pride for its uniqueness and remoteness. To live in the North takes a special person. To go to University in the North takes a special student.

Anchorage, Alaska is one, if not the most diverse city in America. this diversity reflects itself in the university. coming to these university gives you the opportunity to interact with people from different cultures from around the world, making it a wonderful environment and wonderful people to be around.

More interaction between professors and students because the class sizes are smaller than regular universities. Larger variety of age differences in classes because of the night classes offered. Anyone in an academic department is willing to help, even if its not their assigned duty.

I do not think that there is anything unique about my school.

It has smaller class size, and provides greater acess to instructors.

I would say that the exposure to nature on a daily basis is what makes this school unique.

The most unique thing is waking up and seeing the mountains. When you're feeling constrained the clean air will sooth you.

The University of Alaska Anchorage is a growing campus with a diverse bunch of Students and Professors of wide ranged ethnicities and personalities. What is so neat about this school, compared to others, is the location. Apart from being in Anchorage, a city also growing in size, surrounded by mountains and the glistening sea, it's a short drive or trip to escape the pressures of an urban lifestyle. You can camp on the weekends, find places no one will ever find you at, and discover things about yourself you never thought capable! Here, college isn't all about schoolwork.
