What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Kristie

The meal plan up here is not very good and I wish that they would not require students to have one. The food is not of a very good quality for the price of the meal plan.

The most frustrating thing about the University of Alaska Fairbanks is probably the sense of isolation that one has to deal with and is, unfortunately, a large part of experiencing college and life in Alaska, especially if one is coming from out of state. Due to a lot of services being either offered in inadequate amounts (such as psychological therapy services, which are in short supply in Alaska, or adequate shopping services), or being located outside of easy walking distance for campus residents, there is a pervading sense of isolation that ends up bothering many individuals who come to Alaska.

I would have to say the most frustrating thing about my school is that it is far away from home. The main thing that I had to get used to was that it was far away from home.

Cody

The most frustrating thing about my school is that you have to walk to your classes. It's really cold out there! It's not so bad though, if you dress in layers you don't get quite so cold, and, if your class ends at the right time, you can catch a shuttle instead of having to walk. We also don't have very good parking. It's pretty much impossible to drive to class, because there's nowhere to park.

The most frustrating thing about my school would have to be the bookstore and the online ordering and not having textbooks in the store so you have to wait till your first day of instruction for the teacher to tell you which books youw ill need for the class and then an additional week or 2 for your books to get here.

fionna

lack of selection when it comes to instructors.

Mohammad

all people are unknown

Elizabeth

The most frustrating thing about my school would have to be teachers not being prepared for class. I think maybe the professors get stretched a little thin with how many classes some of them have to teach, but I don't think I should be paying for a teacher to bumbble through a whole semester's worth of classes. This doesn't happen often but it's a pretty frustrating when it does.

Most students here for some reason feel that they know more than any given individual just because they go to college. The one-track minds and views makes me sick.

Rebecca

When it is -40 degrees F, it is hard to stay motivated and walk to class. It would be easier if the buildings were closer to my dorm. Also, campus food is horrible. I wish we could hire better cooks.

Emily

The freshman dormatories and much of the upper classman buildings are on top of a large hill that gets icy in winter.
