There is a lot of diversity on campus, so it's easy to meet a lot of different people. I'm from the midwest, and I was surprised by how friendly most everyone is. And, even though it's a large school, it doesn't feel so big to me because of how often you see people you know (from classes, activities, and the dorm) just walking around campus.

Your classmates will forever be fluxing in and out of your lives, with each semester a new face will be sitting next to you. Classmates are usually nice people but you have to remember that people from across the country and the world are sitting next to you. They might have radically different ideas or they might be a kid from your hometown. Be prepared to deal with it all. This is not to say you should be aggressive, au contraire. You should become friends with your classmates but be ready to stand up for your ideals and beliefs.

My classmates have been helpful, knowledgable, generous, spirited, exciting, and did I mention helpful! I have been able to ask just about anyone for help and recieved some form of it. At the sporting events we are hyped up and ready to win but still have etiquette! I really enjoy such a friendly environment to learn in.

Diverse group of students. Within the history discipline it becomes easier with each semester to make friends because you begin to take some of the same classes with them. It's becoming a fun experience studying with and getting to know them. From extroverts to computer geeks, and military students to outdoors enthusiasts, the University of Arizona has just about every type of person you could imagine. It keeps things interesting and helps me maintain my drive to attain an education and degree that will set up my future.

Most UA students are from Arizona and a whole lot come from California. There are a lot of clubs and organizations for students to get involved with. Diversity is one of the UA's priorities. There are many multi-cultural organizations as well.

A mix. Lot's of Whites, but is large enough for all religions/races/etc. Well accepted. There are religious nuts who speak on campus. Ignore them. I'm gay. It's totally great. Good dining. Bad dining. You have the choice between freshman 15 or -15.

In my experience, Arizona students are mostly tolerant of racial, religious, LGBT and other groups on campus. It's a bit left-leaning as a campus, or seems that way, perhaps because Tucson is a blue city for the most part. It's not a particularly diverse campus, but there is definitely a group for everyone. Most students are casual most of the time; since we can wear flip-flops almost year-round, we usually do.

I took many classes relating to race and culture during my years here. Overall there is an atmosphere of acceptance and caring among students. Most people here are pretty casual in their dress. shorts, tops and flip flops are pretty normal attire. The college of business students usually wear very nice professional clothes though and the men wear ties who attend Eller.

They are social, diverse racial backgrounds. Some are academically focused, others are not. There is a large variety of students on campus. I usually am friends with at least one in each class.

They tend to hard working people dedicated to their studies but still find time to enjoy life. Substance abuse seems to a minor problem and is not a choice of the majority of the student body, therefore there is a very positive feeling around the students making class enjoyable. My classmates often joke with each other and the professors as well as know when matters are serious. There is a sense of community there.
