Amanda

While it’s cliché for colleges to claim that they have a “diverse student population,” the U of A really does, and it can be overwhelming if you’re uncomfortable with diversity. Not only are students here from all kinds of backgrounds, diversity seems to be a prevalent theme here in terms of coursework. On several occasions this semester, 3 of my 5 classes seemed as though they were all working together to stay on track teaching the same ideas about diversity. Oh, and you’re actually required to take one class with a “diversity emphasis” before you graduate.

David

I wouldn't recomend UofA to students who want to go to school the size of Tucson (ie not trully small, but certanily not large) or who don't want to go to school in 105+ degree weather.

Samantha

This school is one of the top in the nation-it is considered part of the Ivy League of public schools. In order to keep this high ranking, it takes a lot of effort from both the students and the faculty and administration. Students who just want to party and waste four years should not come here-we take our education seriously here.

Julie

If you can't stand the heat, go far away from Arizona. Other than that I think U of A could be a good fit for a lot of different people that's what makes it great.

Jamie

I think that if you are not ready to work hard and keep up with your classes as well as internships and career oppurtunities, then you should not attend a University as it would be a waste of money.

Gina

U of A is not the school for you if you don’t like diversity, don’t enjoys socializing some nights and working hard others, hate meeting new people, and it is especially not for you if you don’t have school pride.

Amy

Based on the diversity of people that I've met throughout my experience at the University of Arizona, I think that anybody can attend this school. I have met individuals on campus from all types of backgrounds. I think that the only type of student who shouldn't attend the school is anybody who is not willing to work hard to get an education. Students should be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish their goals.

Kiona

A person that is not dedicated to the simple act of going to class should not attend the University of Arizona. Some of the classes have over a thousand students...but your professors will still expect you to be in class, even if they wouldn't notice your absence. You may be able to pass a class without going, but if you want to do more than "get by," be prepared to go to every class.

Linsie

The kind of person that i believe should not attend this school is someone who dosen't really care about there academic carrer. Here at the University of Arizona classes have become very full and i know for a fact that several of the students taking up those spots in class do not want to be here. The last thing a university needs is more people taking spots from students who actually do care. I am sure to everyones disbelief U of A is more than just a party school if you really put an effort in.

Andrew

This university is very open to all incoming students. It is fair to say, not just this school, but all colleges and universities, students shouldn't attend if there is no motivation. There has to be reason why anyone should take upon the task of achieving a better education if that isnt enough for him or her to start off with.

Nikia

Everyone should attend this school.

Kaitlin

someone looking for a lot of academic competition...very laid-back in competition between grades.

Justin

I believe the only person that should not attend the University of Arizona is one who can not properly balance out their social life and their school work. There many different ways that a student can be distracted and have a good time at the school, but not taking ones work seriously can have severe consequences. For the most part, homework will not consume a students whole life, but it is something can not be ignored either. Other than that, I can not think of any limitations on a person joining the University of Arizona.

Max

A person who belives that it is okay to ride the coat-tails of a benefactor & not do the required work necessary to complete a program of study, disobey academic integrity policy, and/or somebody who is just generally rude, biggoted, & doesn't believe in the inherent worth and dignity of all human beings regardless or race, sexual orientation, political affiliation, social standing, etc.

Marielos

A person who isn't interested in trying to really learn and understand the material being taught to them. Basically a person who is just trying to recieve a piece of paper stating they have a degree in something.

Chase

A person that should not attend the University of Arizona, is one who is unmotivated and unwilling to open themselves up to new oppotunities. The university contains a plethora of opportunities at each students fingertips. A nationally recognized center for research with opportunities for jobs and labwork and hundreds of student-run clubs allow for every student here to become involved and gain the real-world experience they need to be successful in life after college.

Donald

If a person is not interested in college or is looking for a place to party this is not the place for you. Social activities abound and we have a premier basketball program and a rising football program but education is paramount at the university of Arizona. Students who attend here are dedicated to acheiving their goals. I have not met a single person who has dropped out in my 21/2 years here.

Lindsey

The kind of person that should not attend this school is a quiet person who likes to be alone or like to keep to themselves. This schol focuses on getting students involved in many way through out life and daily activties. There are always people around you, things to do, and the class sizes can get pretty big.

Dominick

An introvert.

dusty

anyone who doesn't like large, spread out campuses, or who just wants to party or who prefers colder or wetter climates.

Diana

Everyone should attend The University of Arizona! I can't think of a reason why someone wouldn't want to attend. Like I mentioned before about the over 500 clubs available you are sure to find something to be a part of. This school is all about getting involved so coming in you should be ready to show off your wildcat pride and become as involved as you can. The more you get involved the better college experience you will have.

Angela

People that aren't motivated, disciplined, and willing to seek out opportunities shouldn't attend this school unless they do not want to make the most of their college education. While the U of A has tons of opportunities for internships, clubs, coucils, etc. they require initiative on the student's part to seek out those opportunities and make them happend. With the number of students on campus, publicity for most internships and such is not high.

Antonio

There isn't a person who shouldn't attend Arizona. The university fosters a robust sense of community and academics. For this reason every person has a place here. Various social events and groups allow any student, shy or boisterous, to find their niche. Of greater importance is the ability of the campus to leave an impression on its students. Even the most stubborn and close-minded of people would be able to end their tenure here without some change of mind, even only a little, by the accepting community and the level of inquiry found in class.

Mayra

People who are interested in only partying and joking around. If you don't want to start a career then don't come to this school and waste time.

Samantha

Students that do not like large schools. One of the great things about U of A is that there are thousands of people here. It is very diversified and I love meeting people from different areas of the country. Some classes are large and some are small, so you can choose what you like best. There are a lot of clubs to join, including sorority's and fraternity's. I am so excited about being here and meeting new people. I am already getting involved on campus and having fun.

Stephanie

A person who is unfocused, lazy, and just wants to party should not attend this school.

Donavon

The type of person who should not attend this school is someone looking to just get by. If you really want the full U of A experience you need to get out there, meet people and keep your gpa as high as possible. If your not willing to do those things you may very well be dissappointed with your experience.

Jaime

Anyone who likes very small classes/campuses, people who dont make friends easily

Itzel

Someone that doesnt want to experience the full college life and doesn't want to pay too much for school. If you want to attend a school to only take classes and recieve your Bachelor's degree without the college scenery, I suggest you go to a a community college. It would just be a waste of money because tuition is too high and what makes the University of Arizona great and worth it is the atmosphere and diversity you wouldn't want to experience.

Corin

A person who is not willing to work hard and dedicate themselves to their education. Attending a university is hard work which is expected by the professors and your fellow students.

Joseph

People that are antisocial and do not wish to enjoy their college experience while obtaining their desired degree should not attend the University of Arizona. The Zona Zoo is the number one student cheering section in the nation, anyone who wants to remain antisocial will not be able to stay inside their shell with the excitement buzzing during sporting events even if they do not attend the games. Those who wish to slack off while pursuing their degrees will not want to attend because of the vast number of assistance available to students struggling in their classes.

Elda

Someone who shouldn't attend the University of Arizona is someone who isn't career minded, isn't open to do research within their field and someone who is only in college for the social life. Although socializing is very important and part of the college experience, I feel as though most people who only care about partying and drinking don't do so well in school, leading to stress and anxiety and failure. The U of A helps you see what kind of student and person you are and allows you to grow as a person.

Katelyn

If you're the type of person that likes a "small-town feel" then the University of Arizona isn't for you. It doesn't really feel as large as it actually is but in reality, it is quite a big school and is only increasing the enrollment number at this point . The classes can be up to 1,000 students and it may be hard for someone to get to know other people in such an environment.

Ariana

You should not attend this school if you are not interested in attending a research-based college with professors skilled and focused in their respective fields of expertise.

Jarrett

The Univeristy of Arizona is not for everyone and is a large campus. If you are looking to not think outside the box and they are a hermit that likes to stay in there shell and not experience something as great as this school and all the people you can meet then it is probably not for you. As well as someone not college ready as the curriculum can be gruelling for an average student. Academics is very highly regarded and very competitive so average or below average students will not be successful.

Mirely

Kids who want to have an inimate class setting should not come here. The campus is so large and full of so many people that it is rare that one is able to form a relationship with a professor. Students who are looking for a school whose priority is education and not money and sports should not come here either.

Christina

People who go to school just to study would hate UA because it concentrates so much on research, internships, sports, clubs, and has a generally non-studious environment.

Marisa

Being from a small town in Iowa, I understand if a person would choose not to attend the University of Arizona. Its size and range of classes and majors may be intimidating. Although this may be the ideal learning environment for some people, others may feel that a structured environment, with fewer options, would be more comfortable. Those who prefer a narrow or pre-selected path would not appreciate the breadth of options available to them at a large university. To those who feel this way, I recommend applying to a smaller college, like a liberal arts or vocational school.

Shawn

Someone who is set in their ways and is not willing to experience new things.

Karen

Someone who is not inclined to accept cultural differences. Also, someone who does not like large schools or has an ultra conservative point of view.

Leah

People who cannot stand hot weather (especially around August).

Kathryn

Someone that doesn't mind warm/hot weather, has a lot of school spirit, and wants a good education for a decent price (but beware of tuition raises that occur every year).

Aimee

Anyone, there is a very diverse group of students and everyone will find a place to fit in and will enjoy their college experience.

Tory

Academically focused but also social! There's always a ton of stuff to do here and not everything including getting drunk. Greek Life is big here! But overall the school work is tough and should be your main goal.

Tiffany

Every university isn't for every person. The type of person that wouldn't fit in at University of Arizona is one that isn't dedicated to furthering their education. All of the resources and opportunities are available at UA but the student has to persue them. An unmotivated indivual will not make it very far.
