I am part of a Greek right now and from my perspective the Greek scene is very active. However, in my opinion the male fraternities have a low retention rate then the women sororities. I blame this on inner expectations.
The Greek Scene is very divided and has far too little collaboration, but they are the biggest force on campus when it comes to African American students. Predominantly white Greek life is more cohesive and less combative.
We don't have a huge greek scene, but the greeks who exist do make up a huge family. We have the divine nine, chi omega fraternity, kappa delta sorority, kappa sigma fraternity and Pi kappa alpha fraternity. I am a member of Chi Omega Fraternity. Fraternity for us simply means that we founded ourselves. I have had an amazing time so far. We do community service as well as maintain scholarship and are actively involved on campus.
