University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Top Questions

There are hardly any, if ever, events on campus during the weekends and I would lazily spend my days in my room either studying, on my computer, or trying to get my friends to do something. Actually, there are hardly events during the week as well. However, it is mostly in the fall. During the spring semester, however, there are much more things to do.

I have not had any complaints so far about my school except one department. That department would be finacial aid. Its seems that it takes them longer to give the students their money even if they applied for loans and grants months ahead of time. And the excuse of not being able to give the money would be that the student for got to sign a document that they didn't know about. I think that the finacial aid department isn't trying hard enough to satisfy the students like other departments are.

Some of the living quarters are less than up to date.

That they dont have many funds to recruit or help students out. Money would be the only issue i feel there are not many resources in that area.

The worst thing about University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is that its very isolated. The school is placed in a small town. This school causes very little attention to large companies that students wish to pursue later on in life. Also the school is very undersized. The university is very suffocated mainly because the school is located in tiny town.

Not getting help from the different areas, such as when filling out financial aid forms its hard to get waited on and then the people are not nice once you do finally get to do your forms.

The worst thing I consider about my school is the sometimes disorganized staff. There are lots of students in and out of the offices, asking questions, taking care of business. The Advisors sometimes get overwhelmed, which is not their fault, but things could be more organized than they are. They should work as hard as the students who they advise.

The worst thing about my school is the distance between buildings. Having classes scheduled close in time can be a problem for students who have to walk across campus to get to class.

I consider scholarships and money for the athletic department a problem as well as the amount of parking spaces on campus.

The worse thing about my school is the surrounding neighborhood arond the campus.

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff is a historic black college. I am caucasion, and I feel like more white people should give this school a chance. I am reminded everyday that the white class will soon be in the minority. I feel if more whites interacted with blacks more, it would help the transition go a lot more smoothly.
