Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Kristin

We have alot of animals and alot of nature and it's in a pretty laid back town.

Elizabeth

It's very spread out, which is intimidating at first. The first time I walked on campus the amount of bicycles was scary and cool at the same time. The Animal Science department is amazing, there is so much hands on stuff you get to do while you are still a lower classman.

Ariane

We take environmental awareness to another level, sporting many entirely green facilities including our new Aggie Stadium. We have a very distinguished internship and career center that places the majority of undergraduates in jobs and interships in fields that they are interested in (even undergraduate research positions). Many of the students on campus take advantage of study abroad programs or travel on their own. We are located in one of the last college townes in the nation, which fosters a positive environment for students.

Jessie

The city revolves around the student life.

bill

It is close to my original home, and it is known for its agriculture definitions.

Sharmi

The radio station, KDVS 90.3FM is probably the best thing in northern California outside of the bay area. The things that this community offers is unparralleled, and the things that I've learned from being a part of this, I am eternally grateful for. I've seen some of the most amazing shows an heard the most amazing music of my life, as well as learned life long skills. It's really amazing and it's the only reason I really love living in Davis.

Patty

the cows!

Jaspreet

location is pretty quiet but it is not too far from the big cities

Angelique

The atmosphere around the campus focuses the students on academics and human interaction.

Emanuel

The school has an environment that closely resembled that of my home town so it made my transition into college much smoother than if I would have gone to UCLA or UC Berkeley.

Jenny

it's a very open and green campus. it have very relaxing sceneries and sunny weather. everyone's friendly and generally in a good mood.

Amanda

This is not a commuter school so there is a stronger sense of community. It is heavily research-oriented

Zena

Davis is a pretty small, college town, and the school is really the center of activity. This also means that there are a lot of student oriented activities, events, restaurants, bars in town, which makes for a really fun, young atmosphere.--the school doesn't get lost in the city!

Megan

A strong focas on agriculture, specifically cows. Davis is quirky, you'll know if it's for you right off the bat.

Gabrielle

Genuine people, great events, perfect balance of work and play

Aurelia

How I chose the school I did was by visiting them. I immediately felt at home at UC Davis. If you look lost, people will stop and ask you if you need help. It is a beautiful campus and extremely environmentally active. It is a small community and you feel as if you really are part of the community here. I also love that it has seasons in Davis. It is cold during the winter and hot during the summer. Most people say they discover allergies they never had when they come here, but mine actually went away.

Jennifer

Davis is a very great school to attend. It has a excellent reputation, is not too crowded, ethnically diverse, and is very environmentally responsible. Most students ride their bikes around campus and the public transportation runs on natural gas or electricity, making it very easy of a student to be environmentally responsible. Also, we just became a division 1 school which has sparked more school spirit than the years before. Davis has a large campus and is home to many different animals due to the vet school. Being close to Sacramento it is relatively easy to get an internship.

Emma

DAVIS IS AMAZING :)

Robyn

I pray that you get a fun roommate or someone matching your lifestyle because you will be abl to tell within the first few weeks if it's going to work or not. DON'T BECOME AN ALCHY! YOU'RE STILL AT DAVIS FOR SCHOOL, YOU KNOW! hahaha STUDY STUDY STUDY! IF you like being there, you will do well. PS: Come to Davis!

Charlie

The best thing to do is to conduct an on campus observation utilizing researchers to actively probe the campus life and all its aspects, only then will you be able to get a relatively good idea on the trends and fashions of the campus.

Dylan

It's a place where you need to make an effort to be known. If you want friends, go find some. With 30, 000 people, it's not that hard to find someone cool. But it's in your hands. Unlike a small community, you need to take the initiative to plug in and find yourself a family.

KJ

My experiences, though, were great and going to Davis probably the best decision of my life.

Mel

no

Kyle

Quinn

UCD is amazing.

Lorie

Davis is amazing...now if only the cafeteria (DC) would serve better food it would be that much better! ;)

Alex

Don't come here for engineering.

Ryan

Woo! Come to UC Davis!!

Charlie

UC Davis is always evolving. Students run many of the businesses on campus and between that and the student government they are able to keep the campus changing with the needs of the students. Many of the students are active in government because they realize that they can help be a part of the process and that this can lead to politics as a career. Students know that they can affect change in our world. Sitting by not doing anything isn't the life at UC Davis. Life is meant to be challenged and meant to be lived. The students at UC Davis are active and getting ready to take the world head on.

Alex

There is a lot of partying going on in UCD, more than a lot of people may know. Most of the struggle in classes isn't knowing the material but competing with peers, so there is a lot of misleading information that goes around especially if you're a transfer and hadn't had a chance to develop a large pool of friends before classes. UCD students are also naive. The city itself, since it's a small, and I emphasis SMALL, the students and the school are enclosed in a "bubble", where the real world, politics and issues just seem like another distant story. Being close to the capital doesn't help either. It's feels like a small city trying to compete with the big city to say, "I'm as bad ass as you. I party, drink, and think as good as you" but at the same time the city has it's nose held high mumbling "This is MY world, for students, by students, and our opinions and issues are of the utmost importance".

Molly

I love UC Davis and am sad to be graduating soon, but I know my time here has been the best!

Andy

Davis is pretty tight, I really like it here. The DC is ok - pretty repetitive but fairly high quality. Oh, and if you're coming here for the hot ladies, that's a bad move. Seriously. Go to UCSB or something if that's what you're lookng for.

Julie

Davis is so fun and an unique experience. People are amazing!

Stephanie

I really love Davis, but a lot of people are not politically conscious.

Harper

Do not drive for highest grades. Enjoy the moment that God gave you.

Casey

Nope

Matt

This is the best time to attend UC Davis. For a long time Davis has been well-renowned for its superb academic programs across the disciplines, but was hidden behind its better-known sisters Berkeley and UCLA. But over the past few years--thanks a lot to big sports wins over Stanford, but also to continued advances in scientific and medical research, increased public and private funding, and high rankings in US News and World Report (42, national) and Washington Monthly (8, national)--UC Davis has been garnering more national attention. It won't be long before people actually know what you're talking about when you say you go to UC Davis. You can get in on the metaphorical ground floor and help build the campus and its image for the future, and be a part of one of the best institutions in the world (yes, we're that good). UC Davis is not a "farm school," Davis is not a "cow town," and there are plenty of things to do here. The Davis Police Department has a reputation for racial profiling, though I have never witnessed this personally, nor do I know anyone who has (I'm white). It has received some coverage in the campus newspaper, and students organized a march from campus to the police station to protest the alleged profiling. In my time here I have never had a run-in with the police, nor do I know anyone who has. Make of this what you want.
