I think my school provides a number of helpful resources that help students who are struggling academically - such as free/affordable tutoring; the campus also provides a number of studying centers for students during the school year.

Leo

Overall I liked UCI the school and liked the laidback aspects of the city, but didn't like the OC kids -- they're quite cliquish. I didn't mind having a laid back atmosphere with less rowdy things to do because it was a good break from my hometown LA. I would recommend UCI, but you HAVE to keep in mind the role the OC plays in how things are in Irvine.

If you enjoy being able to skip all your classes and still pass but not learn anything, party hard and lose all your brain cells, and live on a campus where the majority of your friends will be close-minded and go home on the weekends, go to Irvine.

Gianpaolo

It has many research opportunities.

Erick

again, the location, being in orange county california is great

Elizabeth

This school is very friendly and the staff and students are very helpful. The campus is also very nice and safe and there are many resources available to students in the libraries.

Hyeyoung

The campus was relatively new and they were on going construction to expand and improve it. So, compared to other colleges, UCI was very modern, clean, and beautiful.

Joshua

UC Irvine is unique in that there is not a single group of students that feels out of place. Every group of students, in my opinion, is not ashamed to be themselves. Whether it be religion, sexual orientation, ethnicity, etc. no one feels as if they dont belong here.

Angela

It's completely the same as my high school.

Mikael

The area the school is based is amazing. It is located within short distance to the coast and the presence of many trees, parks, and hills makes it a very peaceful environme

Ryan

Our mascot is an anteater. Im still not sure how I feel about this.

Julia

I always got the courses I needed and never had to worry about not getting enough units to graduate.

Grace

The size and geography of the campus.

nick

diverse and beautiful campus

Lauren

It has literary journalism, an amazing major run by a Pulitzer Prize winner.

Julia

UC Irvine is a great campus with wonderful students and faculty. Going to the University of California has made me become a more well rounded person. And I know that it is because of my undergraduate degree from this university that I was able to gain admission into the 6 out 6 graduate programs I applied for. GO EATERS!!

Cameron

UCI is a great place to get an education and a great place to meet a few good people, but it is not a place to have a wild social life with hundreds of friends and parties every night.

billy

Wayyyyyyyyy too many asian people who study way tooo much and go home way to much on the weekends so their moms could do their laundry and cook them their entire weeks meal. Not a real college experience if you ask me

Jonathan

This school needs let go of its academic restrictions and allow us to be a real college and have fun. We should have things around campus that stay open later than 11pm. We deserve a Frat Row, not party houses in Newport Beach 15 minutes away.

Torry

Girls, if you're giving the milk away for free nobody is going to want to take care of the cow. Guys, wrap your tools and quit thinking of yourselves as "one-night-stand-kind-of-guys."

Kelly

You can make what ever you want out of your experience at UCI you need to network with the right people.

Alex

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL and am soo happy I decided to come here.

Troy

Unless you are extreme (and I mean extreme) partier, you want to do a major not offered at UCI (which you'd be hard pressed to fine), or you just have to, have to be in Big City then come to UCI. Thee academics are here, the social life is here, the building blocks for happiness and your future is all here!

Tate

I forgot to mention Parking. It is a hassle and expensive. But you have to do it if you want to live off campus, and you do.

Bryant

This is a good arena for people to share...andi hope to get to see my response and others soon. good luck!

Kara

UCI is amazing. The campus is gorgeous and the courses were fantastic. The surrounding beaches are great, but make sure that the City of Irvine is somewhere that you want to call home for four years. I highly recommend dorms during your first year - you'll make amazing friends.

Anto

UCI needs to get more involvement by the administration to wake up and smell the coffee and stop comparing us to the other UC campuses. We are a unique campus that has the potential to grow like no other. If they want more students to attend in the future there has to be work done.

Rob

I think UCI could use a football team. I think it has something to do with the city not wanting to let UCI have one again. The film department needs to focus more on production classes and less on theory. The students are getting very talented and are working together to create truly amazing work that can rival even the exponentially higher budgeted UCLA and USC films. Make friends with people that have better equipment and more money than you do. In my Junior year I decided to get into film and I bought a cheap camera to learn the ropes. By the middle of my senior year I was directing and producing a 15 min short film with about 15 actors and crew members using thousands of dollars worth of equipment I borrowed from friends. We won the audience award for best film. I've been making films ever since.

Lindsay

Bunnies!

Gene

Zot zot zot!!!

When I first came to UCI I was not too happy. I missed all my friends at home and did not care about making new friends. After the first quarter I decided to give it a chance and so I hung out more with my team, I talked more to the people I live with. And I joined campus reps. Being a third year now, I love it here. I am enjoying my time at school, hanging out with friends, and feel that I am being more prepared for my future career every day. The most important thing I can stress is to get involved. No matter where a student goes to school, they will not have a good time if they do not get involved with their school. You get to meet people from all over. The school provides so much for all students and it is important to take advantage of it!

michael

The truth is not everyone I knew loved UCI. Some people I knew hated it but in those cases, I believed they would have done much better at a small liberal arts school or at a big sports school -- depending on their personality.

Sandra

UCI is a good university for students who want a studying environment. The city of Irvine is pretty quiet itself and the campus follows. However, there are parties always going on, but it is not a crazy partying campus like UCSD.

Perry

All in all, UCI is a place where you have to be involved to meet people, either in classes or activities on campus. I would like a campus with more school spirit and more of a college feel but I love this school and the people in it. I have had some of the greatest times here and I really look forward to my senior year.

janice

UCI is an awesome school and I am glad to be an Anteater. In the very beginning of my college career I was not sure about coming to UCI, however, now I wouldn't go to any other school. I met alot of friendly, cool people, professors who have made my experience at UCI wonderful!
