It's an amazing school. I love everything about it. We have so many opportunities at a school as big as this. There's something for everyone no matter what you are interested in. Also, the college town has everything you could want and LA isn't too far. Not to mention that this is a top-tier academic institution with unparalleled academics.

My opinion is that UCLA has satisfied all the criteria for a student, as far as implementing a professional education as well as providing the best social events. A student not only feels welcomed to study, but the student is also open to many communities to be part of.

University of California, Los Angeles. The first time I heard about this school, I was impressed by its name because it sounds so marvelous and it's such a big college, I always love big schools. Then, I learned about this college and found out that it's a top college with such a beautiful view. I recommend UCLA should offer more opportunities or scholarships for students who don't have enough condition to study there but they are suitable for this school.

I haven't really started school at UCLA yet, but I've attended the three day, two night New Student Orientation. I believe it gave me an accurate overview of life on campus, the academics, and the extracurriculars available. My New Student Advisor was open and candid about the culture on campus, and my classes sound interesting and stimulating. I'm excited to start college!

I really enjoy this school. I have never felt more safe walking on campus or alone in my dorm. The people are very friendly and very accessible. The campus feels alive and exciting but very professional at the same time. I plan to very much enjoy my time here.

UCLA is known for both its Academic and Social. The campus provide good higher education opportunity without private university tuition. There is a lot to improve regarding the neighborhood. However, the online service is exceptional. Going to classes online is possible with MyUCLA feature and taking classes while not being a full student is also possible with UCLA extension programs.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

When I applied to transfer into UCLA I did not tell a single person, mostly because I felt I was not good enough for such a prestigious school. However, I got in and I have just finished by first year at UCLA. Living on campus has led me to form amazing friendships, being in small upper division classes has allowed me to interact with professors at a such an amazing level that I get to learn from them so much. Being apart of clubs has exposed me to the diversity and utter kindness that the UCLA student body has. Campus seemed very frightening at first, but it is a home where every student respects each other and is working hard to achieve their dreams at one of the best colleges in the country.

This school gives me life every single day just seeing people who are extremely motivated and have a goal in life which is to succeed and reach their goals in life. There are a lot of things that can be said about UCLA... The positives: -It is a large school so you don't have to worry about everyone knowing your business and you can be rather private. -A large school also provides the opportunity of awesome student life events and a variety of extra curriculars -There's name recognition and some prestige associated with the education -Graduate campus housing is very affordable for the neighborhood The negatives: -As a graduate student your stipend isn't enough to have even a halfway decent quality of life in LA -Many students are in depth -You education is completely dependent on your department and whether or not they care about the quality of education (whether undergraduate or graduate education, there is no consistency across programs) -In many departments undergraduate education is not valued or deemed important -In a large school you are treated like a number and it is hard to develop professional mentor relationships with your professors -There is not sufficient support for first generation college students.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I love UCLA, and if we could win a football game, I'd love it even more. The thing is, with pretty much everyone, they only ever went to one school. Everything they hear about other schools is generally going to be positive because most people who talk about their school are sunshine pumpers like me. And of course the grass is always greener if you've had any negative experience. There will be pros and cons to every school. No one disrespects UCLA. They know if you went here, you worked hard. Ironically, outside of California, UCLA's name holds more cache since so many alumni stay in California so the name gets a little diluted. School pride is weaker here, but that rises and falls with sports. I guarantee if Nick Saban was here and we'd won 4 national championships in recent memory, our football games would be just as rocking. UCLA students are definitely smart as a whole, and I am exposed to many more ideas here. The academic environment is strong and much is expected out of me from my mentor in my research lab. The environment oozes academia and it was fairly easy for me to find a group of people I can relate to. I think you'll love pretty much any college you go to, and it is what you make it. I think finding a cultural match is the most important. If you're depressed or lonely because you don't get along with someone you won't perform your best and you won't seek out opportunity. Find a place where you can grow. If you do, you will make it a success.
