Move in day. Unfortunatly campus is located in the valley where summer weather is constantly over 100 degrees. Having to haul in all your clothes, refigerators and what not is hard to while your trying to make a good impression. College your fresh new start and we all want to make it count but Merced heat is defenilty a killer when your trying to make that happen. Merced heat easily make the top ten in the frustration list.
The most frustrating thing about UC Merced is the lack of variety of classes and majors. Since the school is beginning to expand, there are not many choices to choose from in regard to classes. Another frustrating thing about UC Merced is that some courses required for my major (Management) are difficult to get into. They get full really fast and in some cases only offered during the Spring/Fall.
the most frustrating thing in our school would depend on the person. Since our campus is not really big and full most services provided by the campus are fast and easy to deal with. The one thing that does frustrate me though is the parking, since our school grows each year, the parking starts to fill up even more.
The most frustrating thing about my school has to be the weather, its either really hot or really cold. This type of weather tends to discourage students from leaving a room. The heat is unberable for some while the cold leaves some stiff to the bone.
My school is in a rural area so when I needed to buy supplies, I have to take the bus into the city which takes about 30 minutes to an hour.
The need for accreditation in our School of Engineering has caused a lot of constant changes of prerequisites. This has made many students have to postpone graduation. The food in the Dining Commons is in need of great improvement.
Given a teacher that did not know how to teach the material at all AND having a teachers assistant that did an even worse job. Hiring teachers who are not helpful and cannot explain the material well definitely have an impact on your overall grade for the class. Also, I wish more clubs were active on campus and that the rules to have events or reserve rooms was not so complicated and strict. The school needs to host most fun events to get our school more lively and active on a daily basis.
The work load and how close each midterm is with one another.
Just really the location. Sometimes I feel like we are in the middle of no where. I cam from a bigger city and the small city life can be frustrating at times.
