What is your overall opinion of this school?

UC Riverside is a school with plenty of opportunities. Although it is a tier 3 school, we are heavily based on research and many opportunities given to undergraduates and graduate students. The new medical school brings the school more recognition throughout the UC system. It is a great experience although known for partying. If you find the right crowd, your school life will be more enjoyable.

The very much enjoy the campus. The professors and teaching assistants are very helpful and flexible to make sure the student gets all the help they need. There are many opportunities to be a part of some sort of organization that will benefit students and plenty of extra-curricular activities that they can be a part of to make college life easier.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

My overall opinion of University of California- Riverside is that this campus does a good job of not only giving the students the University experience but also making them develop into well rounded individuals. The students are exposed to immense opportunities to become who they truly are but also to find the education that they crave. It shows a true reflection just how much the University has the chance to make all educational dreams come true. Also exposing the students to a diverse way of life from students al over the globe. The teachers and TA's do an excellent job in being there to go through concepts that are confusing. They are honest in order for the students to benefit.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

University of California-Riverside is very spirited specially during sport days and on weekends, there are always things to do. Whether it is a hike up a rocky mountain to reach the giant C looming in the distance or meeting at the Hub for an informational panel, there is usually an event happening somewhere on or off campus. Although during the Summer, Spring, and Fall, the weather is witheringly hot, the new recreation center has a humongous pool to cool down and relax.

Why did you decide to go to this school?

It's close to home, and financial aid is pretty good.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I graduated UCR back in 2002. I had a pleasant experience as a student and had some amazing, intelligent classmates. I graduated with a degree in business administration with honors (cum laude). However, reality soon set in after my graduation. Graduating with honors certainly helped me get interviews at some decent consulting firms, but I realized that UCR was generally not respected in the management consulting industry. One of my friends who worked at a consultancy that didn't grant me an interview candidly told me that they would rather take the graduate from a school like USC or Stanford with a lower GPA because it looks better to prospective clients when making their sales pitch. Their prospective clients never asked for the GPA of the key personnel, since they automatically assumed that graduating from the big name schools guaranteed competency. And that's the hard lesson I learned about life. Oftentimes perception breeds reality. As a graduate with cum laude distinction, I probably studied harder and know my academic material better than many graduates from better known schools. But my peers from the prestigious schools have had doors from elite firms open to them over the past 15 years, and many work in lucrative positions for firms such as BCG, McKinsey, etc. I've done well enough for myself, but couldn't help but wonder how much easier things would have been had I attended a school with a better reputation than UCR.

I think UCR is often glanced over, but its a hidden gem! I'm so glad I made the decision to enroll; overall great school with high standing academics, brilliant and passionate professors, and friendly down to earth people. I whole heartedly endorse anyone considering UCR to attend.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I'm a 1986 Graduate of UCR. Back then it was about 68% white, 26% Asian, 6% Hispanic. In 2016 it is 40% Hispanic, 30% Asian, 5% white, 25% mixed race, black, Native American. In 30 years the whites have gone from 68% down to 5%. It is because the huge majority of students at UCR are illegal Mexicans and anchor babies. They have the biggest number of students on Pell Grants, illegal immigrant parents, and low income parents in the USA, and this is nothing to brag about. The 4-year graduation rate has plummeted the past 30 years. It was like 90% back in 1986. Now something like only 30% graduate in 4 years. The Mexicans and blacks have MUCH LOWER SAT scores and GPAs that whites and Asians. UCR has become a dumping ground for Asians who didnt' get into UCI, UCB, UCLA, or UCSD. It's also a dumping ground for illegals. If you are white, I highly advise you to go elsewhere- UCSB, SDSU. Annoying liberal snowflakes and illegals at this school.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

UC Riverside is such a beautiful and giving place to go and study. Everyone wants you to excell in your work and work hard to get to where you need to be. It is such a great university and you are never bored! Even studying may be a lot of fun. I came under the impression that college was going to be a place to hide but because of the social environment you want to shine and improve in everything!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I am extremely happy with my choice in attending this school. At first, it was kind of difficult getting used to coming to a big school because I used to attend a small high school. Now, recently I am so satisfied with the help my professors offer and overall with the campus and the safe environment.
