A beautiful campus in an ideal location and perfect for those interested in the sciences.
UCSD is an academically challenging and rigorous school with a beautiful beach front and so-cal culture.
UCSD is a beautiful campus. There is a field of eucalyptus trees leading to the library that beautiful. The campus is east to manuver on foot. The beach is minutes away and many students enjoy studying on the beach. The dorms are very nice, especially at Muir. Some of the Muir dorms have an ocean view. The campus is well maintained and the student center is fantastic. It is a fantastic campus.
The professors are great at their fields but have too many students to be caring teachers. Know what you want and actively look for opportunities; the school won't help you out very much, but the resources are there.
UC San Diego is a diverse community.
It is what you make of it.
This school is highly competetive and focused in sciences; the large classroom sizes make it difficult to get to know your professors, but they tend to have more knowledge than professors at other universities.
UCSD is a pretty spread out campus composed of six colleges. Each college has its own residential halls and apartments, dining hall, market, administration offices, and lecture halls (although your classes can be in any lecture hall on campus). UCSD is definitely built for walking, with very few streets that go into the school, and a fair number of hills in the school. It's built around canyons (in Sixth and Warren) and has a patch of trees in the middle of the school. There are pretty random art structures around the school, including a giant bear made out of rocks, a house hanging off of the top of the engineering building, and a blue net in the middle of the forest.
I was lucky enough to have already known the campus a little before going to UCSD as a student but even with that knowledge, the campus was still huge and I was scared of getting lost. When I bring my friends over, they also think the campus is really huge but they also love the art around. UCSD has a lot of art displayed around campus in forms of a giant chair, a boat, singing/talking/silent trees, and many others. The campus is a really beautiful place: there are nice buildings (especially in Eleanor Roosevelt College), the weather is amazing, and there are a lot of people around.
well-renowned.
Santa Clara University is an institution whose essence is made up of acceptance, diligent students, intriguing class discussions, exciting activities and community based programs.
Research based university with high focus on the sciences
UCSD was whack!
It's a school dominated by science majors.
The University of California, San Diego is an extremely science research-oriented school in the very affluent La Jolla area (not actually San Diego) with little to none emphasis on humanities.
University of California San Diego is an amazing school that offers a unique college experience.
UCSD is a laid back, academics orientated, beachy, fun filled, spirited, full of activities school that has been my dream since I was 10 years old!
Founded in 1960, UCSD is one of the greenest universities in the nation renowned for its six colleges that express an untraditional, eclectic mix of the science, the arts, and the humanities to meet diverse student needs in this age of globalization.
It's a fine balance of working hard and laughing with your friends.
A motely of students from different ethnicities, backgrounds, economic statuses, and areas who are all striving to do what they think is right for themselves and their future.
My school is a research oriented school with a heavy emphasis in the biomedical sciences and engineering.
UCSD is a research based school that primarily focuses on sciences, but is also known for its strong arts and history programs.
UCSD is diverse, challenging, and creates and environment where everyone pushes each other to learn more, and discover and share new ideas.
It may not make the most amazing first impression onto you, but this college really grows on you and you will start falling in love with it.
I strongly believe that at UCSD, students get the best education for the amount of money they pay.
A lot of people hate it, I have come to love it, the school has a lot to offer, its a great university with a great reputation, and I'm not talking about the "socially dead" reputation, and trust me itsn not socially dead, you just have to know where to party. :)
UCSD is a school with engaging and interesting academics but a horrible social environment.
UCSD is an academically prestigious institution, providing students with many research opportunities in the scientific field, while providing a great sense of community within this moderately large campus with its 6 college system.
It has a very friendly social scene, and is helpful to students going into certain majors such as engineering, psychology, sciences, etc..., however very unaccomodating to any majors pertaining to art.
Professors and administration do not care about teaching and learning, only about research results.
It is pretty big, but not very social unless you join some sort of extra-curricular activity.
UCSD is a place more concentrated in research than in providing fun campus life.
It is a academically rigorous school, witha great learning environment.
Very serious, potentially fun.
UCSD is a pretty prestigious school that consists of very hard working and birlliant students in a very beautiful environment.
its very big, and overwelling hard
UCSD is a beautiful, highly acclaimed research university that provides great opportunities and introduces you to great people, however it is bubbling over with academic stress.
University of California San Diego is a wonderful place to learn with its calm, breezy atmosphere due to its close beaches while at the same time is challenging in its academics.
Campus is socially dead after 4pm.
A nice place to visit.
busy and big
prestigious
Very peaceful environment.
academically powerful but socially weak.
My school is big, beautiful due to its wildlife and the region?s weather, artfully unique, prestigious, and humble.
An academic, laid back, beautiful environment.
Longing to make a name for itself.
UCSD is what you make of it.
There aren't enough humble people in this school.
