University of Central Florida Top Questions

What kind of person should not attend this school?

Juliana

Someone who is not willing to put forth the effort into their academics. Someone who does not like being around lots of people. Someone who does not like to make friends. Someone who does not like diversity.

Anthony

Any type of person that doesn't have self-drive or motivation to go beyond what others might think is enough. And people not willing to spend their time working to become greater then just a passing grade. Anyone that doesn't have a plan and is not ready to face the fact that the time for messing around, partying and goofing off is over.

Danielle

A person that has poor decision making skills would not benefit at University of Central Florida because this school has so many opportunities and if you is not careful he or she could get swept up in the blur and lose academic focus.

Jesse

The University of Central Florida should not be attended by a person who is timid around large groups of people, large open space, or a person who is not financially or academically well-organized because the school is notorious for testing rigorously these faculties.

Janey

I think the University of Central Florida is a phenomenal school. Within the next couple of years it will be the most prestigious university in Florida not only for academics but for sports as well. Thus, I believe that a person looking for a small university with no future should not attend UCF. UCF stands for "under construction forever" and opportunity. New buildings are being constructed every year, extending the priceless opportunities for students. UCF is for someone that wants to succeed but needs the guidance and eduation to get there.

Victoria

It is my personal opinion that there isn't any specific person that shouldn't attend the University of Central Florida. The schools population is up to around 54,000 students and you will never meet any two people that are exactly alike. By that, I mean that there are people from all ethic, cultural, and financial backgrounds. The school is accepting to anyone and everyone, no exceptions. It is the best school around by far, and anyone that attends can astest to that fact.

Scott

If you are the type of person who just goes through the motions, and you are only attending college to satisfy some absurd requirement placed upon you by your parents or your peers, and actually have no interest in obtaining an education in a specialized field at all (i.e. you have no idea what to major in), then don't even bother applying to UCF. You should learn to be honest before you can honestly learn.

Brittany

A person who lacks motivation and the desire to better one's self academically and socially would not succeed at the University of Central Florida. In order to succeed at the University of Central Florida, a person must have integrity, motivation and take accountability for everything they do. A person must treat their academics like it is a full time job and be thankful for the opportunity to take advantage of everything that the University offers. A person who lacks motivation, desire, responsibility and integrity would not succeed.

Matthew

The University of Central Florida is now the 2nd largest university in the country, so I would have to say first and foremost that the type of person that should not attend this school is one whom desires a small, intimate setting with small class enrollment sizes (under 100 people) and very personal attention given to them by their professors. A person who is not self-motivated enough to make independent decisions and look out for "number one" - themselves, should not attend because there are nearly 60,000 students enrolled. Every one unique with their own dream. Stay well informed!

Carly

Students who enjoy a small community feeling or have a strict conservative outlook should not attend the University of Central Florida. I came from a high school with about 2,000 students. Now I attend a college with over 50,000 students, and at first, it was a big transition. Those who have a tough time adjusting to big changes would find themselves like a needle in hay at this school. The population of UCF allows for a very diverse campus, which is great, however those with strict conservative views may find themselves opposing various clubs and activities on campus.

Tatiana

non-persistant.

Alexandrea

I have noticed through the years that I have attended UCF that it is not a place for people who aren't dedicated. You can tell that each person working towards their degree has a passion for what they do, including me and that is something I really admire about the students at UCF. This is not a school for alcohol/drug users or for anyone who wants to get by with an "easy A", it is a school for people who are constantly striving to learn and exploring their resources.

Ali

Someone who isn't fully independent or isn't willing to strive toward that may have difficulty at this school. Our population is now over 60,000 students, and while there are plenty of niches for all types of students, you have to be willing to be assertive and to stand up for what you want without relying on someone else.

Vincent

The prospective student that should NOT attend this school is the student that has it in their mind that they must only attend an IVY league school. UCF is NOT an IVY league school. The prospective student that should also NOT attend this school is someone that is looking for an old established university. University of Central Florida is modern and technologically advanced and if you are NOT looking for a modern and technologically advanced school, then UCF is NOT the school that you would find to be suited towards your desired "picture" of the college you find most appealing.

Vanessa

I believe that people who are careless and doesnt really take education seriously shouldnt attend. My reasons for saying is because advisors take students seriouly. They are very helpful to get students to the top.

Kelsey

Someone who does not want to put forth effort in their academic and extracurricular life, otherwise it is very easy to be satisfied.

David

The kind of person who should not attend this school is one who is an introvert. This institution thrives on public interaction in and out of the classroom. Without strong social skills or confidence you run the risk of getting overrun with the large amount of people, events, and work.

Felicea

Someone who isn't comfortable with a diverse university that's similar to a small town shouldn't attend UCF. Prospective students looking for a strong football team should also seek a different university since UCF is not well known for their team compared to other Florida universities such as FSU and UF.

Brandon

People who are not driven and people who do not focus on schoolwork. I find that most of the people at UCF are friendly and intersting. People who dont like a big school should not come here. The UCF campus is huge and can be comfusing at times.

Charity

This school has a more modern feel to the buildings and is newer, therefore someone who likes the older feel shouldn't go here. UCF is the second largest in the nation with over 56,000 students so if this student likes a smaller environment, this isn't the school for them. It's found in a large city in a very warm state so, again, for people that prefer smaller environments or enjoy all four seasons, this is not the place to attend college.

Annemarie

I don't believe there is any student that SHOULDN'T attend the University of Central Florida. The campus offers many options for many different types of students. I feel there are plenty of diverse groups on campus, that an individual could find somewhere to fit in while attending classes here. We have become one of the largest universities in the nation. And with our expanding student body, clubs, organizations, and opportunites have expanded as well. As a freshman it can be a bit intimidating, but once you get yourself into the swing of things it's an incredible ride.

Priscilla

A lazy person

Shaquan

The University of Central Florida has something to offer to all types of people. However, a person who is not passionate about learning and discovering should not the University of Central Florida. Also, someone who does not like to socialize and interact with others will have difficulty adjusting to this school due to the large student body and the vast array of social activities offered here at The Universty of Central Florida .

Jostlyn

If you are a person who likes small class sizes and really getting to know your professors then this school wouldn't be the best for you.

Jaquelyne

A student at UCF should be one who is ready to work hard and play hard; the campus is full of lively events and interactive gatherings, but also maintains a high level of academic excellence. A student unwilling to work for their degree may find UCF too much of a challenge. UCF is also the second largest university in the country; therefore, those who are readily homesick should avoid the large campus and equally large classroom sizes. If you're looking for a quality education that caters to the masses as if they were indiviudals, UCF is it.

Julien

A person that does not like big settings or a person that does not like to get involved.

Jamie

The type of person who would not flourish at a branch campus would be one who is looking for the whole social package that tends to be included in a normal university setting. We do not have access to the athletics, extracurricular activities, and fraternities/sororities like the main campus does. It's definitely something to keep in mind for those individuals who want to become involved in multiple aspects of university life.

Shannon

I do not think there is a person that should not attend this school. This school is very diverse with people from all over and everyone is very open minded. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Giomayra

The type of person that shouldn't attend UCF is the type that wants to party. It is easy to get caught up in the social activities outside of UCF, but if you loose focus on what's important as a student and at UCF, then you will definitely not succeed throughout your college career.

Brandy

someone who is not used to putting themself out there, or someone who is not comfortable doing something new is the kind of person i dont think should attend this school. UCF is a huge school which makes it very easy for a student to fall into the background and puts a lot of pressure on someone who didnt have a support system to help them. I think that if a student was willing to take a chance and willing to try and meet new people they would be a perfect candidate for The University of Central Florida.

Brittany

Students should not attend the University of Central Florida if they just want to party and not concentrate on school. Also if some people dont like a big campus with alot of students attending. UCF is growing and is a big campus with over 50,000 students in attendance.

Cayla

People who want smaller classes, and in general a smaller school, should not attend this school. People who don't have school spirit also shouldn't attend this school.

Amanda

I believe all people should have the chance to obtain an education and no one should be denied the chance to attend school if they desire to.

Ashley

If you are not interested in learning and living you should not attend this univeristy. This university provides amazing education opportunites, but it also provides life changing opportunities. If you are a shy, quiet person not looking to make friends and make something of your life, then you shouldnt attend this school. You must have determination and goals in order to succeed there.

Candace

Students that need smaller class sizes to learn most effectively may have a hard time adjusting at this school. The course work load it quite heavy here also, so those that need to pay for classes on thier own or work full time jobs might take longer to graduate.

Halee

The University of Central Florida is the second largest university n the nation; with a student enrollment of 52,000, UCF is not necessarily geared towards those students unable to deal with “city folk.” The school is undeniably crowded and campus is its own little city, however it is extremely advantageous to get involved and meet people with similar interests as your own. However, I would strongly advise that students who are looking for a more personal college experience should steer clear of this school; its huge enrollment rate makes it diffucult to find your niche early on.

Shanice

This school is all about academic integrity, scholarship, community, creativity, and excellence. I advise a student who does not strive for the best not attend the University of Central Florida.

Hope

A person wanting to take full time courses and graduate on a 4-year schedule is better off with a more available campus.

blaine

College is all about learning and growing as a person, so whoever is lazy please do not attend

Jessica

Even though it is a large school, there is a place for everyone.

Kathryn

People who go to UCF should be interested in meeting lots of new people, they should be active in getting involved, and ready to work hard.

McKenzie

The type of person who should not attend UCF is a person who want a small school with many similar people. UCF is a large and diverse institution which allows you to expand and learn about people different from you. Some one who is not willing to learn about others and accept them for there difference whould not fair well at UCF becasue of how diverse it is.

Timika

As in attending any college, I feel that someone whom is neither dedicated, nor self-motivated should not attend the University of Central Florida. This college has grown tremendously in the past few years and has become one of the largest in the United States so the student to professor ratio is larger than most colleges so that can make it a little difficult for someone whom learns better in smaller class settings. However, I do feel that UCF does have resources and capabilities in assisting someone to become a better student.

Samantha

If you are a person that doesn't care for school spirit, really fun events, people that are willing to meet you, and making friends, you would not like it here. Granted, it doesn't feel like there are 50,000+ students on campus, the events (like football, basketball games) are typically packed and loads of fun. If you don't have much school spirit or desire to make friends, you probably wouldn't like UCF.

Bryan

Located in Orlando, UCF is centered around all the stress of a major city. Student seeking the quiete and comfort of a suburban city will be overwhelmed by the over million residents found in Central Florida.

Michelle

Someone who doesn't like urban settings probably wouldn't do well here. It's a big school with a lot of people. If you're not going to go out and make a name for yourself at UCF, you're going to go unnoticed.

John

A person who is used to a small quiet environment.

Kristen

One who does not like big schools.

Sarah

Someone who doesn't have school spirit or doesn't like meeting new people. I love going to all the sports games (soccer, basketball, football) and showing my school pride. I also joined a couple of clubs and organizations and I'm glad I did because I have met some wonderful people because of that!

James

If you are some one who is unorganized and does not take academics seriously then the University of Central Florida is definitely is not the place for you. The University of Central Florida is the third largest university in the nation and with a population that size there is not going to be anybody who is going to be able to do anything for you. There are plenty of people there to help you if you have the questions but you must first take the initiative to do so.
