What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Isabel

You know what? I love UCF! the only frustrating thing for me is how far from my home it is. Nothin else. It is a great school.

Theresa

Financial aid

Megan

Figuring out how to pay for it.

Pamela

The most frustrating thing about my school is the parking situation. There are over 53,000 students in attendance at UCF, and only about 35,000 parking spots. There is always a shortage of parking. I personally don't have a car at the moment, but I will next year, so I'm concerned about the situation. I will have to worry about getting to campus early enough so I can get a spot and not be late for class. This is definitely most frustraing, the concern of parking and being late to class.

Alessandra

Not enough class availability/limited online classes

Samiya

With first attending any college, it is a challenge to get used to the work load and different environment. If anything was ever stressful or annoying, it would be feeling like I didn't have time to study or complete assignments, purely because of poor time management skills on my part. Finding a balance between studying/review, and other activities on campus was frustrating at first.

Vincent

I really don't find there to be any aspect of UCF that I find frustrating. I find many things to be most appealing about my attendance at UCF such as their advanced technology, system of choosing classes, the fact that anything you want to know about school you can find on the school's website, the accessibiliy and availability of my professors, the varied degrees and classes offered, the fact that the school wants to see you succeed, the availability of tutoring, the very advanced career center, and most of all the appeal of the campus. and campus life.

Ashley

Potentially the most frustrating thing about school, not necessarily my own school, is the cost. I have relatively little negative comments/thoughts about my school.

Amanda

The most frustrating thing about my school is the availability of parking on campus. Sometimes you have to get to school an hour or two before your classes because it might take a complete hour just to find a parking spot.

John

The most frustrating thing for me at the University of Central Florida is the inability to get the classes with the great teachers unless you have high credit hours, because the person with higher credit hours gets to choose before you. They either need to get all good teachers, more classes with good teachers, or get a waiting list for the good teachers.

Kyle

One thing that is most frustrating are the class size as explained above. The teacher to student ratio is to small. I also think that there needs to be more financial assistance especially for having such a large size university.

Amanda

the most frustrating thing is the emphasis on sports and other non-academic related activities. I also wish there was more advising available.

Julien

Not having enough time to do everything they have to offer.

Thomas

I think it would be that some of the classes have rediculously expensive books that they never use. Either that the classes that use the books have books that are so linguistically advanced that they are hard to read, much less understand.

Paige

There is never enough parking spaces, sometimes you have to wait 30 to 45 minutes for a parking spot to open up and by that point you are beyond late to your class.

Daniela

I just become enrolled in this school for the spring semester. At this time it's difficult to describe a frustrating thing about my school. I haven't had any problems. The transition has been completely smooth. The student population is large, so at first I did think I would have a hard time getting help with registering for classes, financial aid, and orientation. But the school staff/faculty have been very helpful in a timely manner so I cannot complain.

Gary

Most frustrating thing about my school is that the parking is horrible.

Kristen

Sometimes the online student portal gives me trouble with admissions and places things on hold. Also the finical disbursements come rather slow, but eventually are given to me.

Sasha

Because it is such a big school, many people like to party and partake in drugs and alcohol for their way of having 'fun'. Because I don't like to do these things, it is hard to get out and have fun on weekends without people wanting to do such things.

Tyrone

The most frustrating thing is that you can not receive help via telephone theres always 3 or 4 transferes in order to get your questions answered correctly

Hannah

The plus/minus grading system. In my opinion, it should only be used if it is to your benefit. If you work very hard to get a B-, you might as well just have gotten a C because you don't get the 3.0 for your GPA.

Kelly

It is extremely frustrating trying to decide how to best manage time at the University of Central Florida; there are so many things to do! Wanting desperately to take part in the wide variety of school activities, socializing with friends, and putting forth the best effort on school work can prove to be challenging, but with a willful mind, anything is possible!

Erin

The most frustrating thing about my school is the fact that after your freshman year, on campus housing is not promised. If it is, it's very expensive. There should be more on campus housing available to upperclassmen. Another thing is the costs. I am having a lot of trouble with paying for college. More than anything, this is the most frustrating thing.

Sabrina

Parking after a certain time on the main campus is horrible. Often I see myself wondering around the parking lot/garge trying to find a place to park. If your getting to campus between the hours of 9am-1pm, good luck. Another thing that bothers me is the enrollment date process. I believe students who are closer to graduating (Juniors/Seniors) should be able to sign up for classes first. It was very frustrating transfering to UCF and not being able to sign up for classes first because I didn't have a UCF GPA.

Jessica

The most frustrating thing about my school is that it is very overpopulated. There are few parking spaces in each garage compared to our enormous student population.

Brittany

The ability to receive scholarships to help pay for housing, classes, books and other various living expenses.

Kristine

I believe the most fristrating thing about my school is the parking. There is no parking anywhere on campus. It is very difficult to find parking due the the about of people that attend my university.

Chad

There are a couple things that are pretty frustrating about attending UCF. The first being that it costs so much money in living expenses, books, and tuition. I am a full time student and also have to work full time because of this and its going to be extremely hard to focus on the up coming semester. My only other complaint would be the parking. We have over 60,000 students who attend and from what I hear and see there is only enough parking spots for about 15,000. Hopefully they will find a solution in the near future.

Ellen

Registering for classes has proved to be difficult at UCF. There are only certain times when you can choose these classes, and if you are not an upperclassman, you will not get into every class you like. In the Psychology Department, there are only a few classes open for certain topics that are needed to graduate, so you need to make sure you have a high GPA so you can have first pick.

Elizabeth

The most frustrating thing about our school is probably the parking situation. It can take up to an hour to find a parking spot. However, I am aware that most schools have the same problem.

Shanice

The most fustrationg thing about my school is the Financial Aid Office. This office is here to help students with our financial issues and concerns, however, it may take a while for them to assist every student. For example, my friend waited about three months to recieve her financial aid check. By this time, she was halfway over with the semester, and now preparing herself for finals. The Financial Aid Office put her through a lot of hassle just to recieve her disbursement check.

Hope

This school offers many, many classes in catalog, but in actuality offers far less.

TRAFFIC!!!!!

Shanequa

The most frustrating thing about my school is there were not many faces that looked like me as I walked through the campus.

Tonie

UCF is the best school I could ever imagine, but the most frustrating thing about it is, parking! We need a lot more spaces that will be convenient for the students!

Courtney

The most frustrating thing is the size of the school, the size of the classrooms, and the parking unavailability.

Morgan

The most frustrating thing about UCF is that it offers so much and you are unable to do it all; there is just not enough time in the day or the semester.

Stephen

The most frustrating thing about my school is something that I have not yet to figure out it . My school is one of the best schools out there academics and athletic wise. Also I have to be there maybe a little while longer for anything to be frustrating about my school. But as of right now I love it.

Kayla

There is not enough communication between new students and their professors. Teachers tend to forget that most of their students (if not all) are new to the big university enviornment and how overwhelming it can be for students to adjust during the first few months at the college. There is also not enough diversity in specialization art classes. You might have the same teachers, for example, during your painting I - Painting II classes and never get the benifit of diverse learning experiences.

It seems to me that the best teachers for most classes are the honors teachers. I think it's unfair that honors students get better teachers.

Benjamin

I was really disappointed with the financial aid department. They allowed one of my scholarships to lapse and did nothing to help notify me beforehand or help me after the fact.

songa

parking

Melanie

The most frustrating thing about my school is that, because of the enormous student population, there is little personal contact or individual attention from advisors or administrators. There is a lack of closeness between faculty and students.

Walter

Sof Far nothing.

Lillian

I can not think of anything frusterating things at my school. I do my best to not let things or situation bother me.

Barbara

The only thing that is frustrating about UCF is finding a parking space! Though the school has many parking garages, it is still difficult to find a parking spot, since thousands of students attend this university. Yet, other than that, I have nothing but kind words to say about my almer mater. :)

Lauren

Registering for classes is the most frustrating part of UCF. Most scholarships require at least 12 hours per semester and every semester I struggle trying to achieve that number while picking classes that pertain to my major. Registration is specific to your expected graduation date as well as you GPA, yet even with a relatively high GPA it seems futile to register for the classes you need. The pattern of registration has become a stressful month of trying to build a schedule with the scraps left over from seniors and constantly checking online for openings until a miracle comes along.

Everett

Getting financial aid to be on time for semesters.

Jaque

Parking, since the school is expanding and remodeling, some of the parking lots, are not accessible to students.
