University of Central Florida Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

kara

I would say the most frustrating is that is so far from where I need to live. I work at the Florida Mall so I live half way in between school and work. I would just like there to be an easy way to get there without having to go through all those tolls on the expressway.

Robyn

I enjoy my school a lot. One thing I do not like is all the walking, but that is with any school.

Jordan

Although I do attend the University of Central Florida (UCF), I do not have any classes on the "Main Campus." I am an Event Managent major, so I attend the Rosen College, which is UCF's Hospitality campus. The most frustrating thing under my circumstances is the distance from the "main" UCF campus. It is about thirty five to forty minutes from Rosen to main campus, so it makes it difficult to stay actively involved in organizations at both campuses.

Sylvia

The most frustrating aspect of UCF is the difficulty to meet other students. I feel as though I go to class the whole semester and only meet a few students out of the hundreds in my class. I feel as though the school does not plan adequate social outings or get-togethers for the students.

John

I would have to say how some of the kids can act immature and ignorant. Basically that they are better than others around them.

Taylor

The ability to try and stand out. I find it frustrating to try to make a difference at school to make you unique and not just another face in the crowd or not just another student who wakes up every morning, goes to class, comes home to eat and sleep and go out at night. I want to do something that will change my peers and make a significant positive change while I attend the University of Central Florida and can be very difficult to strive and put your all into something and not always get the results you want.

Daniell

The most frustrating thing about my school would have to be the fact that it is so crowded. I know that the campus is suppose to be that way because it is a big university, but it can really be frustrating at times. Every line on campus is very long, the sidewalks are always very crowded, and there are so many people that attend the school that most of the student body has to stay off-campus because the school does not contain enough on-campus housing to accommodate everyone. I love UCF, but that can be frustrating at times.

Dawn

The most frustrating thing about UCF is trying to sign up for the classes you need to graduate. There are too many students needing the same courses and too few class options. Classes are either unrealistic as far as times and locations given or filled up too quickly.

Marlena

The parking problems, traffic is always a problems

Jaymin

- Too many students

Angel

The most frustrating thing about this school is that it is too big. One can feel very lonely and unconnected in this school

Jessica

The most frustrating apect about UCF is that since there are over 50,000 students in attendance, there is very limited housing on campus.

Brooke

As a student at an esteemed higher learning institution, I feel that it is exteremely discouraging the lack of funding that goes towards the arts and humanities. These programs are the basis for any cultural involvement as well as the foundation for many other educational pathways. I believe that there would be less problems in modern society if more attention was given to arts and humanities in adolescents lives. Art truly does change one's life for the better.

Casey

Perhaps the most irritating thing about UCF is the difficulty finding parking at the school. During peak class hours, it can take up to 30 minutes to find a parking space, unless you are willing to park in the temporary grass lots beyond the end of the paved parking lots. Even then, there is not always assurance you will find a spot. There is also off-campus parking available, with transportation to the main campus, but this is time-consuming.

Sandra

The cost of books is very high, although that is probably true of any school.

Laura

I am currently transferring from Santa Fe College to the University of Central Florida for the Spring 2010 semester, and it has been very difficult transferring all of my information from one school to the next. It is hard to remember everything that needs to be sent (transcripts, test grades, medical records, etc) and all of the things that must be organized and completed before the semester begins.

TREVOR

THE DISTANCE FROM MY HOME.

Matthew

The most frustrating thing about my school would be getting the exact classes you want for each semester. Being a Freshman, it seems by the time we get to register, there isn't much left. It makes picking classes quite a project, and sometimes you end up with a class you never even wanted to take in the first place.

Princess

Parking!

Danielle

This year the financial aid office took a long time to disburse the money and kept adding on new paper work to complete every week, which made the process even longer.

jennifer

The most frustrating thing about my school is how much it costs to pay for school. I pay over 3000 a semester in classes/books/travel. I have had to get credit cards to pay for this. It has been very hard.

Sara

The most frustrating thing about my school would have to be the bureaucracy of the school system. It is sometimes confusing to know who can help you with academic-related instances. Once a problem arises, sometimes the long trail of paper work that follows can be especially frustrating of it all. The whole environment of offices, signature lines and paperwork can prove to be very troubling for an incoming college student if they are not provided with a proper knowledge of the bureaucratic red tape jargon of the university.

David

The overall parking situation and for one how much it cost to park on campus. Also, how it is one of the fastest growing universities, and you can never seem to find a parking spot when you need to.

Annie

The most frustrating thing about my school is finding a place to park.

Symone

My school is overcrowded and it is a race to get the classes you need.

Gentry

I started the RN to BSN program at UCF three years ago. Aside from the last semester, my other courses were online. I enjoyed this type of learning, though I usually prefer going to campus to attend class. UCF's online courses are well organized. The only part of my experience that was "frustrating" would be trying to reach someone over the phone to answer questions. My advice for this situation is to tell students that need specific questions answered to physically go to the campus and see a guidance counselor. They will save a lot of time and aggravation.

Terrance

The most frustrating thing about my school is the fact that there is so much to do, you just dont know which things to do.

Gene

Not being able to get the class you need for your major

Julian

Because the school has over 50,000 students, scheduling classes can be tedius. They do their best to make it fair for everyone, but I think everyone has had to readjust their schedules a few times because they couldn't get a class they needed right away. (It all works out in the end though)

Lauren

The parking is limited, with over 50,000 students unless you are at the school before 9 AM you will have to be searching at least 20 minutes before finding a parking spot.

Kyle

At first the most frustrating thing about my school was learning where everything was located. Even though this campus was well planned out, it was difficult to learn where everything was located when you are in a hurry and rushing to class. I came during Summer Session and am so thankful I did. During the Summer Session the other frustrating thing was that our main dining room was way across campus from where my dorm was located. It would have been better if both dining rooms were open during this time.

Lindsey

Parking, not enough spaces.

Frederick

Even though it isnt a bad thing that everyone is studying, sometimes the library gets pretty crowded. Also, our gym is huge, but so many people work out that is gets crowded also

Levin

The most frustrating thing about UCF is that it has become over crowded. Having a university with an over populated amount of students can cause difficulty with class selections and lots of frustrations finding parking. UCF wasn't built for 50,000 students, so now they are building more classrooms and parking garages causing more frustrations for the students with all the construction.

Jamila

Parking.

Gregory

I feel most frustrated about the labs in Univeristy of Central Florida. Many biology and chemisty students are forced to take seperate labs with their lectures, however, there are an insufficient amount of labs compared to lectures. This has created a graduation problem through most of the biology and science community.

SANDRA

PARKING!!!

Sasha

The most frustrating thing about my school is it is the third largest school in the united states; in addition, their are alot of students and not enough parking! Many studentswalking to there car find themselves being stalked by angry frustrated students who are late to class because their are no open spots. I plan to get to school at least an hour early; moreover, that gives 30 minutes to park and thirty minutes to walk.

Paige

Chemistry with Pedro Patino.

Jade

The books are so expensive and many teachers do not utilize or even use them.

Erika

It can be hard to get things resolved, especially regarding financial aid; we have to make sure to start doing things with enough time to run around three or four offices in campus.

Julie

Professors expect alot out of students and do not offer any positive encouragement. They tend to demean students and the students in my major are so competitive that noone even studies together.

Lauren

The only frustrating thing about my school is getting ahold of them: with the five hour time difference it can be difficult!

Yolanda

There are many things that can frustrate me about the University of Central Florida. My main frustration is the economic issue, i live with my family in a different city and bearly make enough money to pay for school. I would like to be recieve more grants inorder to allow me to devote more time to my education.

Amanda

There is always tons of things going on but I never know about them all!

Sumair

Nothing.

Trying to find a parking spot on-campus if you do drive. Also, I'd like to see even more healthy, yet cheap & quick food choices around the campus.

Anthony

Parking

zineb

The most frustrating thing at UCF is the parking. You basically will spend a lot of time driving around looking for a parking spot. It is a school with more than 50000 students and no more than 15000 parking spots.

Shilan

Commuter school, hard to keep up with the activities that go on at campus
