I wish I had known that this school isn't as great as people try to say that it is. I went there thinking that there would be a lot of fun and interesting things to do in a small town/city surrounding. Instead, I found that I was in a rather depressing city surrounded by people who were so drastically changed by its atmosphere, that it was astonishing.

I wish I have known the importance of filling out your FASA before each schools priority deadline. Although you may not win every scholarship, whereas in my case you may not even win any, but if you complete your FASA before the priority deadline for your school, then you will be eligible for many more grants and scholarships than an individual who filled it out at the last minute.

Angela

I wish I would have known how truly amazing it is, which would have made my decision to come here much easier. My decision to turn down the University of Florida was considered taboo by many, but I just knew that UF wasn't the school for me, and that I would love every second of my time spent at UCF. Cliche, I know. But, had I known that I'd never regret my decision to come here, I wouldn't have spent all summer comparing and contrasting.

Before attending UCF, it was a new and not well known school. It had yet to establish a reputation. Summer

I wish I had known how hard it is to balance a full schedule, double major, stuyding and social activities while striving to keep an above average GPA. I was not prepared, though I thought I was at the beginning of first semester, for how totally immersed you really need to be to succeed as a student in a large university. With 400+ students in some classes, I have found I have to work both independently and with others to grasp what is being taught. I will keep working to make myself stand out in a crowd in my major.

I wish I had known that college isn't anything like high school and that you actually do have to study and work hard. High school babies you so much and doesn't prepare you enough for college. When you get to college, it gets overwhelming because sometimes you're not well prepared at what is going to be handed to you and what you have to deal with. You really have to grow up a lot in college and prepare yourself for the real world.

I wish I knew how much money the school really cost before I attended. I was under the impression school would be just tuition and books. I never knew books were so costly! I wish I knew that living on-campus meant paying a rediculous amount of money just for the bare necessities. Then you also need to pay for a mean plan because although you have a dorm, you don't have the resources to cook for yourself. I wish I knew the true cost of college, the cost including the hidden fees.

Daniel

Money brings happiness indirectly by buying the opportunities which lead to happiness.

Richard

I wish I had known I would be transfering in the Spring of 2010. Originally, I was planning to transfer to UCF in the fall of 2010. However, once I determined I was able to apply for graduation and recieve my AA degree ahead of schedule, I made the decision to graduate and begin my career at UCF. As a result, I found myself racing against the clock to apply, register, attend orientation, and scramble to find financial aid. Seminole State was paid for, however, my tuition at UCF is not covered entirely.

Living by the school my whole life and my dad being an alumni of UCF, I've pretty much known everything about it. I just wish I knew more about how quickly the classes fill up. The University of Central Florida is notorious for taxing its students with heavy fees and fines. Park without a proper decal, withdraw from a course late, or make a late payment and you could be swamped with debts and fees that could potentially add thousands of dollars to your bills. We?re drowning in a sea of debts, credits, and fees: when we finally breach the surface, we are immediately consumed by a tremendous wave of new fees. The turbulent maelstrom never ends. Be prepared.

During my first year at UCF, I realized that studying has become a very important part of being a student there. I began putting in more effort into my school work to achieve the goals that I have set for myself, than I have ever done before. The work load gets bigger and harder each semester as harder classes become a part of your schedule. Therefore, I wish I had learned to give my all while I was still in a community college.

There is not really anything that I wish I would have known before I cam to UCF. It is everything that a person can look for in a University. Darrian
