nothing really, UCF has given me all the knowlegde i need to know to get by in school.
I wish I had known more about my major rather than just going into it blindly. I still enjoyed what I did; I just wish I had looked at all my options before selecting mine.
The availability of leadership opportunities.
That the classes were so big
I wish that I had know that I was not going to get any finanical aid to pay for school.
just how expensive going away to college is.
I wish I had known more about the journalism program because it is not what I expected. They focus heavily on teaching students how to work for newspapers and I am interested in magazine page design. The journalism program is trying to get accredited which puts strict rules on the journalism majors in terms of what extracurricular classes we can take as well as what minors we choose. This program has lessened my interest in the journalism profession.
Nothing. I feel like I knew everything I should have known.
what to expect when i came here and how the teaching would be
There's nothing I wish I would have known before I came to UCF.
I wish I'd known that my foreign language classes that I took in high school didn't count toward my college degree.
Nothing
That I really needed to study more than I did.
The cost of living on your own and what I wanted to go to college for
I wish that I had known what other opportunities lie out there including choices of schools and also what sort of scholarships I could apply to. There were only a select few that I knew about and as for scholarships, I did not know the right sources to approach to get aid. Regardless I think I was prepared for my transition between high school and college with little challenges.
How expensive Housing really is. And how little regard the school has for the art department.
better study skills, more preparation for college life
That advising for the science department doesnt have good advising
Before I started attending UCF, I wish I had known what it was like having a roommate. I'm an only child, so I never had shared a room with someone before. It's something no college student can predict, because most of the time you are living with a stranger your freshmen year. I read all the books about having a roommate, but none of them could prepare me for it. All you can do is get to know the people you live with, and work together to keep the environment enjoyable for everyone.
I wish I had known that in order to get an override, you must go to the department instead of your advisor and the traffic as well as the parking.
I wish that I had been more prepared for the amount of drinking and partying that goes on. I had no idea that going out to bars was basically the way to have a social life in college.
More information about the scholarships offered to incoming students, whether first time in college, or transfer.
Nothing.
How horrible the regular advisors are in helping students. The financial advisors are awesome though.
I wish that i'd known that i have to work much harder in order to get the grades that I want and the competition at this university is too large to ignore.
I wish I knew how many students attended this giant University. Every bureaucratic institution has its flaws, but with so many students sometimes the financial aid and counseling departments struggle to keep up.
I wish i had known how to get a job on campus earlier before they all filled up.
I wish I had known how different college was from high school. Even AP classes were no comparison. You need to have a strong work ethic to get good grades and need self-discipline to get done what needs to be done.
I did know this when before I was accepted to the school.
I wish that I had known about Campus Crusade for Christ sooner than I did. I wish that I was involved in it my entire freshman year.
