We Asked Students, What's your overall opinion of this school?

Bath-scheba

I love this campus mainly because of it's size and the fact that there is so much to do in Stamford! If UCONN Stamford offered Engineering, I would definitely stay at the campus all four years. There will be housing for the campus very soon so that is always a great advantage! The class sizes are awesome!! It's awesome how much one can learn just by being able to contact professors whenever help is needed. I love the fact that you can get to know the professors on a personal level, so you're never a just a number in school. I've found that my gpa was fairly high because of all the advantages I have attending a regional campus. I love the amount of majors they have offered to complete all four years at the campus, so that is a money saver to most students. The city of Stamford has so much life to it and it's super easy to get a side job or internship around the area. And the fact that NY is just an hour away makes a lot of things more fun and easier! The campus itself is very clean and there are a lot of things offered! For example, there are plenty of clubs and organizations one can get involved in a join, there 's a fitness center that is now FREE, there is a cafe that sort of resembles Starbucks and the campus is just down the street from the mall, a whole bunch of restaurants, and target is right across! Overall, I would rate UCONN Stamford a 4/5 mainly because engineering and a lot of other majors aren't offered to be completed within the four years at the campus. However, the campus does offer a lot of majors that can all be completed there. It's never a bad thing where students feel that they can contact their professors at the snap of a finger! If prospective college students are ever afraid that colleges are too big and hard to grasp, UCONN Stamford is never a bad choice. Not only does it allow students to come together as a close-knit community, but students can definitely excel at a campus like Stamford.

Overall, UCONN is a great school. Not only academically , but socially. Every event that occurs the air is filled with good vibes and everyone pushes you to participate. For the first time, I rode a bull and joined a tye die powder riot. This makes it not only fun to go to school, but it encourages you to come to school and that college isnt all about digging your heads in books. However, you learn about life and all of its lessons it has to teach us.

My overall experience has been great. The Stamford campus has a very friendly and knowledgeable stuff always willing to help. Also, the University web site has a lot of helpful information and resources available for new and current students. An excellent option to start or complete your educational goals.

It is the best of the branches, however it can feel rather empty. The UCONN stamford community actively attempts to create a proper college experience for its students and does a decent job in doing so. The professors also do a good job in attending to the students individually as the classes are small in comparison to the massive lectures at the main campus.

Kimberly

I love the people, atmosphere and how I feel right at home. Everything I need is within walking distance! During the warmer weather students are always encouraged to spend their time outside by having tournaments and free food! No matter where you go during your time at UCONN Stamford you're bound to have a great time.

The Stamford campus is one of the best satellite campuses Uconn has to offer. Location is key, there are many facilities willing to take in interns from the campus so students get aa feel for careers. The campus also strongly enforces the concept that the student body should be heard. Debates occur through the semester in open areas or in a debate hall to encourage others to hear, discuss, and participate. Classes are typically under 30 averaging mid 20's. The campus is small so it is understandable as to why most students will leave the campus to go home, relax in between classes, or go and work. The campus feels more like an upgraded community college. the upgrade would be better classes, faculty, and students.

Nice school. Great to be in and I really like the metropolitan feel of the city. There is always something going on, whether it is inside the dorms or out on the street. The shuttle was a great addition after the dorms were added. Make the trip worth while.

Jennifer

I have no regrets in coming to this university. There is always a great environment wherever I go, and there are always fun activities that we can join and meet new people. I also im grateful for the professors who work in the university because they are understanding and very helpful.

University of Connecticut-Stamford does not have the regular feel of a college campus. There is one building for class and one building for the dorms. A total of about 600-800 students live on-campus. Although there are no sports teams to watch or join, there is a YMCA across the street from the dorms (in Hotel 0 Degrees) that give UCONN students a free membership if their Husky Card is provided. In addition, there is no Greek life, but plenty of opportunities to go into Downtown Stamford to bars, the movie theatre, the mall, or even NYC with just an hour long train ride.

A basic commuter college. They have little active clubs, but that hosts events. Not many people go to the events. Sometimes there are free food and that’s very helpful. The school does not provide free meals themselves, but because of its location, it is surrounded by many restaurants. The professors really show they care and often remind students their availability.

Niki

It's a great school with very nice professors who are passionate about what they do. The school is in downtown Stamford, so the scene is very fast-paced and there is always an opportunity to go to your favorite restaurant, visit the parks, or snag an internship. It can get rowdy in the dorms as I live on a floor that is known to party a lot, but there are plenty of areas to study if you want to.
