What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Caitlin

BOBCATS!!!! and the general wildlife of Irving, Texas. The art department buildings are separated from the rest of the college and located in the woods surrounding the campus. As an art major, I walk through the wooded paths to class every morning. While in drawing class, a student staring our the window yelled, "There are cats out there!" The class subsequently ran over to the window only to have our professor exclaim that those were 3 baby bobcats climbing in the trees! Just the other day I was walking in those woods. Now I am constantly on alert for wildlife!

The academic work is very challenging and focused on a apecific curriculum and view point. It is a very catholic school and you need to plan your time wisely and work hard to get good grades. Students that choose to go to the University of Dallas are very focused on their studies and get good grades. They like to have fun and have a good time in their free time.

I only wish that I had known that the workload would be as intense as it was. I would have been better prepared mentally if I had known more about the intensity.

I arrived at the University of Dallas pretty prepared for what I came to experience first hand: their community is tight knit but welcoming; the studies are difficult but also reasonable; the professors are always there to help you through out the semester; and the school stays faithful to its Catholic heritage. I was also aware of the student body's propensity to drinking, so that did not come as a big surprise. All in all, I was prepared for what I encountered my first year.
