What kind of person should attend this school?

Narine

A student who wants to excel and thrives in a challenging setting would do exceptionally well here. Anyone who enjoys reading and writing---even if they are a science major---will likely be successful at the University of Dallas. Travel in the second year is part of the educational experience, so I think someone who has always wanted to explore other countries would also be a great fit. The campus, classes, and feeling here all contribute to a sense of family and intimacy, which is I believe, helpful for a student who likes or needs a support system.

University of Dallas is ideal for a student who craves academic excellence. The school is demanding, caring, and dedicated to a classical education. Travel to Europe is part of the academic experience at UD as is a wonderfully challenging core curriculum. The school is top-notch for pre-med and pre-law students, and is overall, conservative. Though it is a Catholic institution, the University of Dallas welcomes all students who would benefit from an impressive, first-class scholastic environment. Be prepared to work hard, meet professors who will lift you to new levels of knowledge, and grow!

I know a couple of friends who are considering transferring after next semester. In general, their complaints are centered on not feeling comfortable in UD?s conservative atmosphere. People who are inclined to vote Democrat or who are looking to party hard and wild probably won?t feel as at home as someone who is Republican and, not necessarily more studious, but more satisfied with a down-to-earth approach to having fun. There are a few Democrats on campus, and there are quite a few party animals, but they?re the minority.

Theresa

Samantha

Michael

Someone who is able to articulate his beliefs, whether they be political, religious or anything else. While the majority of people who attend the university are Catholic, non-Catholics definately still fit in. Anyone who comes to the school either needs to be very efficient with studying or be willing to study a lot to get good grades. A person should over-all just be open-minded, fun, and studious in order to succeed at the University of Dallas.

Jonathan

This school is not for anyone who can't put up with ultraconservatism in a very vocal minority of the school. It permeates every part of the school, including a few of the faculty, though it is a minority of students who push for this.
