Any prospective Freshmen wanting to attend the University of Dayton should be ones that share the same Marianist values the university strives to achieve. The people who attend Dayton are value friendly and open-minded people; they want to be part of a community and are very accepting differences. Students at UD are hard working and driven to achieve their full potential academically, and also to become the best person they can become.
I have met any and every personality at UD. Everyone seems to fit in with everyone else, which I really like because it jsut makes me feel like I am welcome. Feeling unwanted or unliked is a terrible feeling, but I promise you won't experience that at UD.
Someone who is friendly and outgoing---you don't have to be super outgoing, but definitely willing to make friends. Also, someone who is comfortable with a lot of parties and drinking on the weekends. Also, be prepared for a lot of classwork, and be ready to spend a lot of time in "club Roesch" (aka the library!).
The type of person who attends this school, would have to be one who loves to interact with people and likes to make friends. If you want to feel like you are part of something, then this is the place you want to go.

The University of Dayton is a place for someone who is interested in a college that is big on community. The University of Dayton is defined by the success of the community and what each student has to offer. A Marianist University, UD is a univeristy where learning doesnt end after class. We focus on learning outside the classroom and what we can contribute in service to others.
The kind of person that should attend this school is someone who likes small colleges, because since it's a private school it is smaller than a reagular school. Also this school is perfect for people who want to be around a great community of students who are always so nice and friendly to eachother. People also take their studies seriously here and so the college would be great for people who do the same.

Someone who is friendly and likes to have fun. There is a good mix of people here ranging from people who are artsy, people who are academically focused, and people who are partiers.
preppy, conservative, upper middle class kids are predominant here, but ud's really friendly and everyone does fit in somewhere. just don't expect any diversity unless you're the one bringing it

Whoever attends the University of Dayton should understand that their views in life, politics, religion, and everything else is going to be accepted and although they may encounter critique, they will be appreciated for their thoughts and willingness to share with others. The person that attends should also understand that there is a line that must be drawn between the social aspect of the school and the academic aspect because regardless of what school someone attends, they need to find that perfect balance.

The type of person that should look at this school should be like any other person looking to attend a place of higher education. They should be open to new ideas, new people, hard work, and a good time.
There is something for everyone here. It can accommodate many different types of people. I will say that there does seem to be a more "mainstream" crowd here. It's slightly more difficult to find more alternative types of thinking and personalities, but it's definitely do-able. You should attend this school if you are interested in studying with experts in your field.
The kind of person who should attend this school is someone who is able to focus on work and also kick back and enjoy what some people like to call "the college experience." If you can do both, you will have a wonderful time at UD. If you're easily distracted, work may be come hard. If you dislike lots of noise, you might become frustrated. Academics here are greater for engineers and business students, but other departments are fine as well.
Someone who is determind to do well while cutting as much corners as possible
Those who like to help others and enjoy making new friends would do very well here at UD. Also, anyone who values learning and applying their knowledge to real life situations would have a great time here at Dayton. Those who enjoy doing service and making a difference in their community woudl fit in well. UD also has a strong engineering and business program as well as a great liberal arts education. Those interested in human rights would do well as UD as we just added a human rights major.
If your looking to go to the university of dayton, you should be outgoing, car free, and studious. It's a campus that has the "good neighbor" mentality. even if you don't particularly know someone, it doesn't matter. If you dont have a positive attitude about wanting to be active then I would say don't come here.
Someone outgoing and who is looking to make a lot of life long friends. Students who would like to get involved have a wide variety of clubs, sports, and greek organizations to get involved with. This is also a good campus for international students. We are very accomodating to those with English as a second language.
