DU places a high importance on cultural diversity. Although I am a Colorado native, many of my peers and professors span over the entire United States. Furthermore, about 10{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of our students are international travelers. We are known as a state to be "Colorful Colorado", and that could not be more true than for the beautiful life and community that exists on my campus. I am incredibly grateful for the culture immersion and acceptance at DU because there is so much more we can learn from each other outside of the classroom.

Malinda

The University of Denver has high academic standards, and the academic culture is aimed at developing students to become leaders in their chosen fields. The university has a reputation for educating students who choose to use their education for the greater good.

Katie

It has students that are ambitious and diverse, and you have so many opportunities to learn from your peers.

Rachel

DU has a focus on learning off of campus that I did not find at other campuses. DU not only looks at study abroad as an opportunity to learn more than one could learn on campus, but also is very integrated with the Denver community to always be providing, in and out of class, their students a way to learn in real situations. This is done through partnership with other academic and non-academic institutions and companies nearby, who provide lectures, workshops, internships, and voulenteer opportunities to DU students.

Heather

It's a great size, in a fantastic location. Great neighborhood in the city of Denver, close to downtown, an hour from the mountains in beautiful CO. There's also a ton of stuff to do, both on-campus and off. Couldn't imagine myself in a better place!

Margot

The location of the University of Denver makes it easy to get off campus and get involved with the community. I found the accessibility appealing because I knew that I wanted to explore the city and not spend too much time on campus.

Cooper

The University of Denver has a lot of networking opportunities and other opportunities that some of the other schools I applied to did not have. The Study Abroad Program here is excellent and I am looking forward to that. The location of DU is perfect and it is a small enough university to get to know my peers by not having huge class sizes. The final thing that lead me to choose DU was the excellent education. This was the most important thing in choosing my school.

Lissa

I like my school because its close to my home and i have a family so its pretty convienent. Also they are very considerate about taking my family and i into considerationwhen it comes to bad weather and other complications like that. My school is pretty small and i enjoy that very much, i think it gives everyone a better chance at really learning the material and also having a social life.

Jenny

The unique thing about my school is that my school doesn’t have a football team. Here hockey is our football, because of this we show our school spirit in very different ways. Instead of getting hyped up at pre-game pep rallies we get excited by shouting angry chants at the opposing team trying to shake their confidence. It may sound crazy but that’s how our school bonds and it definitely makes us unique. Think about it, how many other four year universities don’t have a football team?

Whitney

Univeristy of Denver considers the global and sustainable messages that it sends to students and surrounding community, encouraging the best and most progressive solutions to all problems.

Chad

I actually put in the wrong school... this for the College of Idaho. It only has 1000 students. Its tri-mester. It is in a very small town. I would not recommend it if going to a good college town is a priority.

Tara

They have excellent programs for students interested in dual undergraduate/graduate degrees. There is one for business, international studies, education and social work. The best part about these is that if you are accepted your financial aid carries over to that extra year or two years. It was a smart move financially and I also love that I can stay in one place so that I can continue to built relationships with faculty and potential employers

Alexis

The small class sizes. My largest class was a general requirement chemistry class, and there were 75 people. Besides that, my classes have never been larger than 25. All the professors are able to get to know you as an individual, it's really nice.

Denver Pioneers are excepionally friendly, intelligent and caring students. University of Denver is located near Cherry Creek but close to the mountains. With spectacular views and extraordinary architecture, I cannot imagine going to a more amazing university. Every student at DU is a person, not a number. With small class sizes, peers and professors care to hear each students opinion. The one on one interaction available at DU is very unique. The professors here will meet with students anytime and truly care about furthering our education, helping us to understand and getting to know their students. While Denver is an amazing place to live, the university has provided an ideal campus for students and have hired truly helpful professors, DU is amazing because of the students. With energetic, friendly attitudes, it is easy to feel welcome on this campus. Students come out to campus activities in order to support one another and show some school pride. With so many clubs and activities on campus, you never even have to leave.

Sydney

DU has been the best decision of my life, by far! I have met so many amazing people that never cease to amaze me with their passion and drive to acheive great things and mark their place in the world. I had no clue what I wanted to do when I came to college, but my professors and friends were always there for advice and to steer me in the right direction. Now, as a senior, I can truly say that DU has prepared me for life after college! Besides classes and campus life, Denver is a great city to live in, and probably my favorite part of being here. There are so many things to do including snowboarding (or skiing), seeing a Rockies game, going to clubs and restaurants downtown, seeing a play at the Performing Arts Center, or just going shopping. It's always nice to be reminded that there is life outside of the college bubble - even if it's just walking down the street to the original Chipotle for dinner with friends!

Marisa

During my college application process, I was positive I wanted to go to a large, state school. I ended up choosing the University of Denver and could not be happier! Simply, it is the perfect place. It is small enough that every time I walk to class, I see someone I know. But it is also large enough that I make new friends in each of my classes. People are extremely friendly here, and in no time I had made many new best friends. Even now, during my Sophomore year, I still meet new people that are very outgoing, nice, and fun to be around. The campus of DU is very lively and there is always something going on. DUPB presents a recently released movie every Thursday night, DU Grilling Society is often out on Driscoll Green serving free food, and Greek Life often hosts campus-wide events. DU is in the perfect location. The area surrounding DU feels like a small college town--with locally owned pizza and frozen yogurt restaurants with specials for DU students. DU is also a fifteen minute lightrail ride from the exciting Downtown. You get a small university feel within a big city!

Emilee

DU is a great place for any student and there is something here for everyone. We cover a lot of the popular majors and have plenty of clubs and activities for students to get involved in. We are close to a big city where there is plenty of culture and the mountains for those who like to be outdoors can be outdoors.

Kelsey

There are so many opportunities here at DU, we love diversity and encourage people from all different backgrounds to attend. It is a private school so it's a smaller atmosphere and you really get to know the people you are learning with. Class size is about 25 on average so it's more personal verses a HUGE lecture hall state school.

laura

I like Du because it is a great school for a commuter like myself. Because it is in Colorado there are a ton of things to do. I appriecitate the size of the school. It is big enough to have space, but small enough so that most students don't go unoticed.

Blair

The geographic setting of the University of Denver is probably the most unique feature of my school. It is perfectly place so that you can get the best of both worlds. Nestled right out side the city but at the same time near the base of the gorgeous Rocky Mountians its perfect. It accomadates those who want to live in a large city but also experience nature every once in a while with a short driver to the mountians. I am reminded of our great location as i wake up every morning to a view of 25 miles of mountains!

Samuel

There is a very adult and career oriented atmosphere at DU. Most classes will incorporate some real world situations and qualify everything you have talked about by relating them to the world view. While the party scene is not the greatest, there are a lot of things to do, and DU does tend to look the other way most times when there is underage drinking.

Shauntiquea'

Like i said above the support here is not like other school i;ve been to, your not just a number here everyone wants to get to know you, if there able to help they offer, they want everyone to be involved. i like it...

Latrice

I absolutely love the diversity at The Women's College at DU. I also love that my degree is conferred by one of nation's top ranking academic prestige schools and I feel ambitious that I am apart of this wonderful group. Our current Dean is a woman, in my opinion, I rank as a "Powehouse" and usually leads in this fashion. When I see her I aspire to become someone designed to make a difference in society.

Stephanie

I chose DU because even though CSU and CU - Boulder both offered biology degrees, when I visited DU's campus I just felt like I belonged there. Denver is only an hour away from where my family lives, so I could still visit when I got homesick. Also, even though it is a private insitution, I knew they would offer me financial aid and I would be able to attend the school of my dreams.

Brianna

The University of Denver has a strong sense of community. I noticed on my first day how the freshman banded together, for both survival and friendship. In high school, the class tensions were palpable; the upper classmen never associated with the lower classmen. This distinction is nonexistant at the University of Denver, the older students are always more than happy to help a freshman find their next class, or give helpful tips about different professors. The community at the University of Denver feels like one big family, always willing to talk and help eachother through their first years of college.

Nam

D.U. is in the heart of Denver. The unique thing about the campus is being able to go downtown and experience many different social activities within 15 minutes from the campus. Students get free access to local RTD buses and lightrails. Taking the lightrail to the nearby downtown allows you to enjoy life with friends. For example, you can easily go to Coors Field to catch a Rockies game, watch a movie at the AMC theater, go clubbing, or even roam the 16th street mall.

Lauren

It's dedication to helping it's students succeed and it's dedication to making a difference in the community as well as the world.

Chris

If you want an academically challenging school and an opportunity to network with students who will go on to become future leaders in their respective fields, go somewhere else. You won't find either of these things at DU. It's not worth the money.

Ariana

The University of Denver has a smaller campus than the other schools I toured in Denver. It also has smaller class sizes therefore giving more of a personal learning environment rather than one where there are over 70 students in one class.

Jorge

DU has a great student teacher ratio when it comes to freshman classes. The professors are able to offer assistance and answer question during lecture. You are not just a number like other univeristys where freshman classes can have over 100 students.

Brendan

What I love about the University of Denver is its ability to be many things at once. It is in Denver, but it isn't loud or crowded like a normal city. It has a sense of community, but without the feel of a college town. It also has a variety of majors, with small class sizes. I, personally, like it because it is a half-an-hour drive from home, so I can be in my own little world and experience life for myself, but I can also go home for the weekend if I need to.

Jenna

It's a really tight community feel surrounded by the feeling of a big city. The campus is sort of our own area even though it's not secluded. It's a unique feel.

Kyle

The community that begins with the small class sizes and continues to the social community. A combination of the size and school pride makes you feel connected to the idea of DU. The variety of ways to get involved makes it easy to feel engaged. Finally, there is a passion to improve the school in everyone you meet and in each conversation demonstrating that pride.

Briana

Good achademics, great campus, nice location, good activites and a good reputation.

Cassidy

DU has an incredible music school, one of the best in the country.

Kari

There is a definite air of athleticism around the University of Denver. The majority of students are involved in many outdoor activities, such as skiing, snowboarding, and running. It's refreshing to be in a community that values being outdoors and active.

Jessica

The staff actually cares about you and your future. It's great to know that they are on your side and are working hard to help you succeed

Samantha

DU is unique in that even though the city is close by and the school is located in a highly populated area, the campus remains seculded. This really helps give the campus a feeling of community and togetherness. It seems as if anywhere you travel on campus a friendly face can be found, whether it be an established friend or someone knew you met along the way.

Kelly

The University of Denver consists of engaging classes, professors, and students. Almost all professors at DU are committed to each student and their learning outcomes. Class sizes are typically below 40 students, so students are typically engaged with and recognized by professors. The campus is not overwhelmingly large, nor is it so small that it is stifling. Because of the small class sizes and moderate campus size, students feel at home and recognized at DU. Study rooms and common space are available on campus for the opportunity to study and meet in groups in a conducive learning environment.

Casey

It is a private university with small class sized that emphasize the importance of the students more than the subject matter.

Sara

The location, attension and diversity.

Becca

The international studies program and some business programs are top ten in the nation.

Margy

The size, it is small enough to be a strong community: you cannot walk across campus without seeing someone you know. However, it is not too large that your classes are packed with students in a lecture hall. Our typical class size is 20-25 students. The quarter system is what really attracted me to the campus though. I was sick of a semester school after leaving high school. At DU, we go to school from mid September until the week before Thanksgiving. We have 6 weeks off for winter break.

Elizabeth

Business school, skiing, drinking

Erin

It is very prestigious. The campus is beautiful and the people are very friendly. It is very rigorous!

Ryan

The location really; a lot of different things to do in Denver that other schools could not have offered.

Kevin

Denver is a mid-sized school that is on the quarter system. Unlike other schools, we have three quarters during the year and have a massive six week break between thanksgiving and new years. We are also close to the mountains and to the city of Denver, which gives us the best of both worlds.

Matthew

It has a good academic program and reputation for liberal arts.

Matt

The Rockies!

Natasha

I really dislike DU and wish I would have made a better decision about college.
