University of Detroit Mercy Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Kayla

The most frustrating thing about my school is how expensive it is. Tutition keeps rising each academic year, while student's academic scholarships remain the same. UDM is becoming impossible to afford without a student being thousands of dollars in debt by graduation. Although UDM offers a great education, many students will miss their opportunity because of the expenses. I would like to see more financial aid/scholarships available to returning students and incoming students as well.

The most frustrating thing about UDM are the required university "core" classes. These are classes have to be fulfilled in order to complete your degree. They include history, english, math etc. While there are limited choices there are also limited times available especially when working with your degree classes. In the core classes there is a mix of people from different degrees and those not in a program yet. This makes it difficult to have a lesson plan that properly fits all. With so many people on different academica levels, they are viewed as a waste of time.
