A typical weekend in Athens for most people, not really for me, kind of starts on Thursday. Since Athens has so many bars, drink specials are usually on Thursday {"Thirsty Thursday"). On Friday, people usually go downtown and go to the clubs or the bars, whichever one you're in to. And on Saturdays, the fraternities usually have parties at their house. On Sunday, everyone usually stays in to do homework or go to church.
If you are into the whole Bars/Alcohol scene, you are Downtown all weekend. The fun never ends downtown. If not, there are plenty of other activities to participate in. Go to the movies, go to a sports or theatre event, go to a concert (40 Watt and the Georgia Theatre are famous, google it if you don't believe me), participate in a Dawgs After Dark Event, or go downtown to mess with the drunk kids. There are plenty of things to do all the time at UGA!
