Downtown Athens has excellent restaurants. We have the typical college town cheap eats like Pita Pit and Five Guys, but we also have in-town classics like Little Italy, Transmetropolitan, The Grill, and so much more. Athens is known for its great food and food culture. We also have well known fancy restaurants such as the famous Five & Ten, the popular National, La Dolce Vita, Porterhouse, and many many more. On campus the food is great too. UGA foodservices has won award after award year after year for its great food and service. The dining halls are awesome, and they are all unique. Popular spots include O-House (get the stir fry... yum) and the East Campus dining options. I miss the dining halls... so much food. Many students will go to the dining hall Snelling (24 hours) during exams and camp out with their books while eating off of the buffet all day.

This is perhaps one of the BEST things about UGA. The food is amazing. We have four choices: -Oglethorpe Dining Commons -Snelling Dining Commons -Joe Frank Harris (or more affectionately known as EVC) Commons -Bolton Dining Commons Our food is not only great, but it's award-winning as well. We have won national/local/regional awards year after year for creating perfect food combinations as well as ideas to keep students in the dining halls.
