Some of the biggest events are our sporting events for our Basketball, Football, and Women's Volleyball team! Especially our Women's Volleyball team because they are incredible. We have many international programs and some Fraternities and Sororities that people may join. Also, our Housing Association throws many student events for us! This makes getting to know everyone a lot more easy and fun.

Volleyball and basketball games are well attended. There are not a lot of good parties here. Most people just go to the beach of the mall for fun. I met most of the people I know from my dorm. I am a part of the Pre-Medical Association and its fun, but there are like five white people in it and a million Asians. Pre-professional organizations and honor societies are pretty big, like the pre-med association and Golden Key. Another big one is the International Student Association, which is an organization comprised of students from around the world. I'm currently involved with Campus Center Board Activities Council. We plan and hold events for students to participate in, including concerts and movie nights. I also started up my own club called Asian Beat Covers. We learn and perform covers of Asian pop dances, particularly Jpop and Kpop. I met most of my closest friends via Asian Beat Covers. It started with talking to one girl in class and she brought some of her other friends. Because we spend so much time together, we have all become a family of sorts. Because almost all of us are underage, we try to find fun things that don't involve drinking. Including playing video games a friend's house, going karaoke (which is down the street from school!) or just hanging out at the mall or beach (it /is/ Hawaii after all). Maybe I'm not that popular, or I'm just that unaware, but I don't really know about any parties that go on around campus. Like I said, I mainly hang out with my friends and that's far more fun than partying with some random drunks anyway. ^_^ If I'm awake at 2am on a Tuesday, that probably means that I'm doing homework. Yeah, I know, I'm a boring nerd 8) Being right in-between downtown and Waikiki means that there's a lot of things to do offcampus. Like I said earlier, there's a karaoke place right down the street. In addition, Ala Moana is a good place to eat, shop, and hang out with friends. And there's always the beach :D

I am not qualified to speak on what activities/groups are most popular. I am 25 and have a wife and an 8 month old son who is currently teething so I have not been able to join any activities or groups as all my free time is currently devoted to my family.

Being in Hawai'i makes the beach an obvious activity for students at our school. It's a part of the experience of being out here. Going to the North Shore on weekends is a great way to de-stress, or for the very diligent students, you can take your books to study while you sunbathe.

recently there havent been to many campus events because of the construction. but i know that there is a movie night in campus center every week and usually they send out emails to let you know what day. also intrameral sports is a big thing and you can sign up in the stadiums office

We have a variety of RIOs (Registered Independent Organizations), which are basically student run organizations. From my observation, the more popular student activities/groups are KaLeo, (the student newspaper) the Honors Societies, the Pre-Professional groups, Peer advising groups, Business clubs, and Leisure clubs.

The best thing about the Unversity of Hawaii (Manoa Campus) is its diverse fields of study and opportunities for success. There are a number of resources available and being a part of clubs on campus is a great way to seek these connections. The one thing I would change would be implementing more of a community oriented environment so that students will feel comfortable to engage as a collective entity. The campus is rather large, therefore the sense of school pride is only apparent among the select few who attend games and other campus events. Outside of classes, I spend most of my time either in the one of the two libraries or at campus center, the hub of student activity on campus. University of Hawaii is located at the base of Manoa valley, a residential district and minutes away from Waikiki beach so there really isn't much of a college town. The most concentrated "college town" feel would be in the dorm complex. Regarding UH's administration, I have been lucky to have highly qualified professors, lecturers, and mentors so far. In terms of academic advising, admissions, and student services, the administration as a whole could improve upon regarding the needs of every student. The experience I'll always remember during my short college career thus far is the first and second day of second semester sophomore year. I just remember the whole day I carried with me an infectious and cheery disposition because I loved all my classes. I was telling everyone I knew, "I love school!." They sort of just laughed at me and said I won't be feeling this way for long. They were right, as the work load progressed significantly. I still, however, very much enjoy my classes. The most frequent student complaints I've heard are mainly administrative related. Overall improvement in the way things are done at the administrative level would be beneficial to all at UH.

There's so many different clubs and organizations for students on campus, so anyone can get involved. We have sports teams, student governments, special interest clubs, and so much more. Athletic events are free as they are included in your tuition. The most popular events are football, women's volleyball, and basketball. There are parties in the dorms, but if that's not your scene, then it's okay. Our activities board usually hold some kind of event for students to hang out. Off campus you can go shopping, beach, hiking, surfing, fishing, and a whole bunch of other things.

The Debate & Forensics Society is a widely popular organization at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Tailgating at football games is also highly popular!

I think the most popular student activities are clubs based on interests. I'm involved with the business clubs in the business school. Most students in the business school are involved in one of the business clubs. The athletic events are popular, especially football and volleyball. There's also a lot of school-sponsored events such as concerts and performances. Off-campus, the school is only a 15-20minute bus ride to some of the major shopping centers of the island. This is also near the downtown region where many of the clubs and night life can be found.
