Overall, the campus is okay. Its pretty small for a university. Most of the people are nice. However, for my degree in education I have had a lot of trouble with educational advisors, professors, and the program overall. The university is best for business, not for education. The program for secondary teachers does not fully prepare you with their courses and it is needed for the State tests to become a teacher. There has also been a lot of sexual (un-safe) and drug use in the dorms as well.
The University of Houston- Victoria has become my home. I have been attending the school for three years and have had an excellent experience not only academically but with my peers and the faculty. I Like that the professors are wanting to help you and have an interest in your well being.
My overall opinion about University of Houston-Victoria is I don't dislike or love the school but I do love the area. it's a small school which is great but the not so great is the motel like dorm and fire alarm going off at 3-5am i think it's unnecessary for practices when there are students having to wake up 6-7am for class. Also, the cost of the dorm are so expensive to the point that every students I talked to would rather get an apartment and drive to school than stay in the dorm.

I will use the skills learned to volunteer and render help the society. I feel great and fulfilled because I can take care of myself after my education. I have great memories and have made lots of friends during my academic life. I am very fortunate to experience different people from different cultures. I have respect for all and value other cultures now. Going to school has been valuable because it has broadened my knowledge. It will allow me to earn valuable skills and with a college degree many doors of opportunities will open for me. It is a virtue to go to college honestly. I will be able to get promotions, raises and opportunities for better positions. With a good job, I will be able to pay off the loans I borrowed towards my education.
Evergreen students are typically friendly, laid-back, socially and environmentally conscious, a little on the liberal side, and most endeavor to go beyond what our classes cover, often through on of our many extra-curricular activities and groups
The interdisciplinary nature of the programs, and lack of required classes. Students can not only follow their dreams and study what they want, without having to take classes they are not interested in, but the classes bridge a variety of subjects, seamlessly integrating them for a more cohesive, balance education.
University is expanding so frequent changes/organizational fluctuations can be confusing; smaller town is growing also so housing and typical college 'kid' social activities are still in the development process as well; with a smaller university the tuition may be lower, but sometimes expensive facilities or more highly advanced equipment is not available/less research opportunities/post-grad continuance support, etc.
This school has quality teachers, excellent learning environment, low tuition fees, offers various scholarship programs and mentors students from diverse background.
UHV is a place you can call your second home.
A student that likes small classes (but not to small) and wants to start their own tradition.
I think that a person who does not want to fully get the benefits of hardwork and persistence should not attend the school.
I think our school is known for being small and being an education oriented school...it's no party school! We are also known for our sports teams especially this year with the new freshman coming in to the picture.
My school is located within minutes from my home, making it very convenient for me to attend classes. Also because this a state school, the tuition is affordable. Location, convience, and affordability were the main factors leading to my decision to atten the University of Houston at Victoria.
I was prepared and ready upon my start at this school. There were really no surprises.
The teachers are not very interesting at all.
