The best thing about the University of Illinois at Chicago is the opportunity to learn about and participate in a variety of community organizations, student groups, events, activities. The vast majority of opportunities truly allow you to expand your mind and be more open-minded to which degree or profession you may want to pursue. If you are unsure, there are many professors, teaching assistants, and other faculty available for you to meet with to help you narrow down your interests, goals, and define a plan to get you to where you want to be.
The college I attend was not in the choices listed. I go to Moody Bible Institute, and I do online courses. The best thing about this school is that it has the highest accreditation that exists, so this helps insure that my courses will transfer to my states college. The other great thing about this college is that they are in partnership with the service Gap year program I am in this year, and they give the students a discount to take courses through them. I am thankful that I am able to do this!
For the money that I'm paying, I'm revieving a good education. Also, I'm in a good spot for this particular field (Chicago/computer science). One of the problems with this survey is that I'm answering questions for the "college" that I'm in (school of engineering) and the University as a whole, and the answers vaty greatly depending on which one I'm thinking about. And I havn't been consistent. In any case, it's a fantastic college, and a so-so university.
Most classes made our course work applicable to real life. Whatever I was learning in school, I had to research and apply for validity and realiability in the real world.
I would have to say that the best thing about the school is it's diversity. UIC is known to be one of the most ethnically diverse schools in the country. Meeting people with different backrounds helps you for future encounters in real life. You become a more socially sensitive person in terms of religous and political views.
The academics.
The best thing about my school would have to be the diversity. Growing up in a pre-dominately white neighborhood, I wasn't exposed to much different culutures than my own. Going to UIC, I was able to experience different cultures and learn about other people.
I really like the library of my school. It is so organized, and students can study there without disturbance. There are different floors for different types of setting a student likes. There is one floor that is really quiet, and if a student wants to study in groups, there is a different floor for that. Also, there are computers on each and every floor. And, there are printers too, but not on every floor. Also, the campus is really pretty too.
The location allows for convience and diverse opportunites.
The culturally rich atmosphere and rock solid support system located in the heart of the best city in the world! There is never a dull moment and always something spetacular to learn about the city and about your school. Every student gets individualized attention and an instructor devoted to the well-being of their students. There is a very wide variety of choices of Major/Minor and electives.
The students that live on campus are a tight knit group/community.
The best thing about my school is the teachers. It is the best thing because most of them are energetic which brings energy to the classs especially when classes are about a hour long. They also bring new ideas into the classroom and promote more of a desire to the learn the subject they teach.
The fact that the campus is in downtown Chicago. So many things are available for students to do throughout the city.
The best thing about my school is the diversity. There you encounter people from all parts of the world.
Specific programs are very strong academcially, also the proximity to Chicago lends itself to the social and professional aspects of school giving UIC students a variety of places to Intern or work.
The greatest aspect of my school is the diversity. There is diversity of programs offered and of the student body. The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) is one of only three universities in Chicago that offer an engineering program. UIC is also the largest medical research campus in the United States. Lastly, I feel the business school program that I attend is a quality offering. It has a competitive national rank, and the teachers I've met thus far are excellent. The diversity of the student body is a real bonus. I have friends from virtually everywhere.
The best thing about my school is: Most of my professors are willing to take time out of their busy schedule to help students who are having a difficult time in their class. Before I entered college, many people would say that in college it is "every man for themself." In other words, every student is on their own and will not receive any assistance because professors have many students. I came to find out that, that statement was false. Most of my professors have been their in time of need, and I am grateful.
The best thing about my school is the diversity that is present. There is a big representation of many different countries from around the world. There is also a big diversity in the economic status of many students that attend school here in Chicago. Despite all the differences between each and every student, everyone gets along very well and have open minds to accept the differences present between students. Diversity also helps each and every one of us to adapt to each other and experience the future in the present.
Thw focus on doing well academically pushes students to excel and strive to be the best that they can be.
I ask myself this question as I finish my last courses at Triton Community College, and I see that my answer now is very different than what my answer would have been almost 2 years ago. I would have to say that the single best part of this school is it's ability to help students learn better studying, which they can use when they move onto a 4 year university. This opportunity helped me to better my grades, afford myself a general ed. education, and also to be responsible and to learn better studying and learning habits for UIC.
I think the best thing about North Arkansas College is the different methods of teaching they offer. They offer night classes, day classes, web classes and hybrid classes. There is always a way to fit college into your schedule here at North Arkansas College.
The amount of freedom I have to coordinate my own academic and social life. I am living in one of the new dorms with access to a fully stocked kitchen, lounges on the several floors, a fully stocked kitchen, and a clster arrangement of rooms with separate large bathrooms for each side of the cluster and a huge lab available to us 24 hours a day. I feel comfortable and safe and that important when trying to complete an engineering major. I am slso close to my family and can go home if I need to.
The best thing about my school is the gym. In our gym, there's an extremely big pool, many different places to play sports, and a fitness area. I take adantage of the gym every chance I get. I like the gym because it's a place where I am able to go and actually be stress free. When I go to the gym, I am able to regain strength from any problems or struggles in school. Me and a couple of my friends get together on the regular basis and go to the gym. I love the gym.
The best thing about my school is the diversification amongst gender, race, political views, ethnicity, and cultural are all represented on this campus and throughout the university. This school is in the top 50 research institutions in the U.S. that is in a world-class city. This university gives students the opportunity to experience many cultural, artistic, and sporting events for all students. It is a strong academic based university and the system is very strict and straightforward of what is required in order to be successful. The support programs that are offered on campus for students are helpful.
There is always some event going on, sporting events, diversity events, or guest speakers coming to talk, in the student centers to students about topics such as money management.
It's very strong in the medical field and research. Thus, pre-medical, pre-pharm, and pre-nursing have a good time here.
The best thing about my school is the accessibility to downtown Chicago and the people that go to my school. Everyone is so friendly and social.
I found the best thing about my school to be how it was located right in the center of downtown Chicago, which provided accessibility to all the necessary places for living on campus such as banks and grocery stores while also allowing for a great variety of social hangouts. Plus, despite the inevitably distractive environment, while on campus, the faculty and students all were able to maintain a focused determination on succeeding academically and in life after college.
It is low cost and diverse. It offers a high quality of education.
How close everything is and how easy it is to get around campus. Also that it is very diverse and everyone is able to be who they are.
they want to see you do well.
For prospective students they should take school very seriously. at the university you can easily fall behind if you do not come to class.
UIC is a good school because it has a lot of opportunities. There are tons of classes and majors available.
The best thing about my school is the department that you are in. I am in the psychology department and they always give certain things to enable the students to reach their goals. They have degree speeches and people come in and speak about their experiences. It gives a lot of insight for those who want to go into different fields.
the placement of the university
The great amount of social interaction that it has allowed me to have.
Commuter College
There are several things I like about my school. The students are so diverse but really work to help one another out. The teachers work really hard to make sure you understand the material to not only pass your classes, but succeed in your future career. The University is also very quick to receive new types of information/research and uses a variety of ways to teach and help you understand the material.
The best thing about my school would be it's location. It's located minutes away from downtown Chicago which is really nice because there is plenty to do when not in class.
The best thing about my school is the opportunity it provides to live in a large city and the experiences and challenges that come along with urban areas. Being in a diverse environment, that happens to be one of our nation's cultural hubs, allows me to expand my thoughts and interactions with others while exploring my more esoteric interests by spending my weekends exploring the museums and visiting and studying the different religious happenings in the city. The constant expansion of thought and self is truely worth the cost of my education, and the daily challenges that it presents.
The best thing about my school is the people. You make friends very quickly and friendships last a lifetime.
Big campus and friendly people.
The best things about the University of Illinois at Chicago is the diverse student population, the various research opportunities, and the fact that UIC is located near the heart of Chicago. UIC is home to many students who represent various countries around the world. I have met so many diverse groups of people from China, Korea, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Poland, and Mexico. I have come to appreciate and learn more about their unique and amazing cultures and have made life-long friends. UIC exposes students to different cultures and allows students to become open minded and more tolerant.
Being close to downtown because there is always something going on, unlike on campus.
It has a great variety of events, activities, and clubs to maximize social life.
Public transportation and the school giving you a pass for only $54 a semester. It's a huge savings and allows me to travel basically for free to and from school.
That it is in the city of Chicago and there is so much to do. The nighborhood is friendly and the campus is in a great location. You have the college experience in a major city in the world. What more could you want?
