The worst thing is if you are late on a payment, the amount you have to pay goes up significantly every month. It is hard to keep up with the bills and I feel like that distracts from my education.

The worst thing that occurs in our University and in many other places is the lack of a well rounded education. Although our schooling explains quite well and efficiently how to earn a living, how to build a career, or bread-oriented education. Our university as many other universities lack the proper method to instruct people to on how to live a better life in the sense of how to live in a family, how to understand and use this life, developing the proper character and attitude of people. In short our universities teach us to be sheep, not lions.

There seems to be more of a focus on athletics as a whole. There is no way to opt out of fees that support athletics. Additionally aid to help students find funding to continue their education no matter how well they perform in school is in dire shortage. If the school is willing to spend millions on the athletic program for a few students then it would seem reasonable to spend a few thousand to help student who are excelling.

i believe the worst thing about my school is the drinking. i myself have never drank before in my whole entire life and i believe drinking is one of the main reason people at this school do not succeed in what they want to do. binge drinking and underage drinking is a big problem as well at this school. its very easy for people to get into a bar or get a drink at a club using a fake id because people hear do not throughly check the id to make sure it is not a fake

The scholarship funding for average students such as myself. I really wouldn't call myself average, but it is impossible to find a scholarship for a white, female who economically grew up middle class. I am smart and driven, yet just because I am not a minority I can't find any scholarships that supports someone like me who wants to go above and beyond. Who wants to really make the most out of my college experience and work and try so that later I can succeed.

My school had poor academic facilities that were in need of rebuilding and renovation. While I believe the academics are excellent, the poor facilities really hindered the national prominance and rankings of the university and its schools. The facilities hinder the growth and excitement of the students.

The worst thing about the campus would be the hills! You definitely get your excersize walking to class but they have a great bus transit system that is free to all students so in reality its not that bad.

The worst thing about the University of Kansas is the parking. Most Universities have this issue. Our parking department posts million dollar profits each year but they can't build another parking garage for some reason. Our campus continues to grow and grow yet they continue to take away more and more parking spaces.

I would say that the only bad thing about the University of Kansas is the amount of students. Our largest lecture hall holds about 2,000 students which could make it hard for some students to learn. However, due to the amout of students on campus there is a lot of diversity at the University. There are many different people to learn about and work with. Although the busses on campus get crowded quickly its a unique experience to work and learn with so many different people.

The worst thing about KU is the fact that they are not non-traditional friendly. I probably only feel this way because I am a nontraditional student. Teachers seem to be more concerned about research than students.

People who act like sheep and do not think for themselves.

There are many great things about my school, but the worst thing is the limited amount of financial aid and scholarships they provide for out of state students. It seems as though in order to receive a substantial scholarship one has to perform very well on the ACT (above 30). For those on the bubble with a 27 to 29 it is very hard to recieve a scholarship, even though the person may be deserving.

the food, because it tastes nasty.

My school is tremendous in many things that it does, however the worst thing has got to be the excessive use of alcohol on campus property. Whether it be in the dormitories, sorority and fraternity houses, or even on-campus apartments, alcohol is present everywhere a student goes and can pervade their lives to the point that it becomes almost unbearable. I don't feel that it is necessary for alcohol consumption to exist to this extent on campus property out of respect for those who do not enjoy the same vices as others.

Because it is such a large school, people can keep to themselves and not go out of their way to be friendly.

There really is not anything bad except large lectures..

The worst thing about my school is that not all of the buildings are connected, which is a pain in inclimate weather, but it's not that big of a deal.

The University of Kansas is has around 20,000 undergraduate students and a campus that stretches all across Lawrence. For a freshman on foot this can be pretty daunting. Many times during my first semester I felt overwhelmed by the sheer mass of the public university lifestyle. Getting to class involved a ten minute bus ride not to mention waiting in the cold. Meeting up with friends in the library became a version of lost and found. Sometimes there were just so many people in my classes I felt like I was pushed to the back.

The worst thing about my school would have to be the tuition it is expensive.

The worst aspect of The University of Kansas is out of state tuition. My tuition for four years is terribly high for my families income and family situation. Though I am getting some financial aid and getting some scholarship, I still need to receive more to be able to continue my education at this school. Unfortunately, with going to such a large school, many of the scholarship opportunites are taken before I see or hear about them. I wish that there were more scholarship opportunites and a better way of notifying the student body about them.

At times it does seem like The University of Kansas can be overcrowded especially when trying to catch the buses that go to the dorms.

Although I am proud to be a Jayhawk, there is one big problem that needs to be adressed: The standards for admission to KU are unnecessarily low. Many of my peers are irrresponsible and obviously not competent enough to attend the university. I believe that it would be to KU's benefit to raise their standards so that the school is taken more seriously natinwide. We have a great school with incredible resources and facilities, but some individuals do not deserve the privilage of utilizing them.

The size of the introductory classes makes you feel anonymous.

The worst thing about KU is in my opinon the cost of attendence. There are a lot of students here that come from wealthy families and have no worries other then school work. That is exactly how it should be when you are 19-20 years old. For me, I often get more stressed out about if I will be able to pay my car payment or gas rather then if I did well on a paper. I guess the saying is true that you get what you pay for.

Since I have only completed the first semester as a freshman at Kansas University, I haven't found something worst about my school, besides the weather, the university itself is wonderful. The campus is gorgeous, the people are friendly, and the professors are brilliant. I absolutely love the challenege that KU provides the students because it helps motivate me towards success. If I had to choose something, it would probably be the distance from home even though I must make Lawrence my new home now.

There is a heavy focus on athletics instead of academics. Not all of the academic departments are supportive. The school isn't set up for nontraditional students.

It sounds petty, but the thing I like least about my school is parking for off-campus students. The geographical layout of our school makes it difficult for students (like myself) who choose not to take the bus to get to the main part of campus.

The worst thing about this school is the focus on fraternity an sorority organizations, an the lack of diverse student groups. I would like to see more focus by the university on creating school funde clubs for different hobbies such as art or cooking.

KU definitely has an alcohol problem. We had several deaths that were alcohol related last year. This year, the University has tried to start alcohol education programs to help the problem but the culture here and the number of bars around mean it is unlikely to change.

That the campus is so big so you don't get a lot of one on one attention like community colleges or high school

The worst thing is how superficial some of the other students are. I have found it hard to make real new friends because many of the students only care about partying. It's a little hard to feel completely comfortable in a school where you don't have a group of friends to interact with.

I don't think there is anything bad at the University of Kansas, but the high tuition is definitely a negative factor. As a full time student paying for college out of my own pocket, it can sometimes be rough having to work long hours at a job to make ends meet.

I don't know of anything I would consider bad about KU.

Some of the work is pretty tough, however I am still adjusting from high school.

The worst thing about this school, is because it is so large (approximately 26,000 undergraduates), sometimes the class sizes are quite large. For example, some of the classes can be up to 1,000 students. This can be difficult for student who prefer small class sizes. Although there are alternatiive classes that are smaller. Also, for student who are elibile, the honors program offeres small classes with individualized teaching. Therefore, even though the large class size can deter some students, there are ways to getting a class size that will help an individual student's learnign ability.

The worst thing about KU is that they offer Saturday labs for certain chemistry classes and it is a real bummer for those that have to go to school 6 days a week.

Size of general education classes are huge.

Teachers, they don't know what they are talking about most of the time.

Even if you buy a parking permit, you are not guaranteed a spot to park on campus. The school over sells permits and often times I am late to class just because it is so difficult to park.

Buses not on schedule always - needs to be organized better.

PARKING. There is never enough close parking, and although walking or biking is healthy and just fabulous, Lawrence happens to have all the hills in the state of Kansas. Oh, and campus is on the tallest hill of all. I also work on campus, so the parking situation is even more of a problem. . but I don't like to dwell.

Some of the buildings are not as up to date as a prominent national school should be. The campus is very old and some of the buildings are worn and need some reconstruction and updates.

There are classes that are supposed to be scheduled for certain semesters that were cancelled last minute. Since the Edwards Campus only has a few classes, cancelling 2 months before the next semester begins caused some complications.

Sometimes sports take on an almost too important role in the school's environment.

If you come from a small town KU can seem overbearing. There are over 30,000 students and it's somewhat hard to distinguish yourself. Some classes can have up to 930 students while others only 7 students. Most general education (required to graduate) classes are harder than they should be, for such a low level class. The librarys get really crowded during finals. Parking at KU is the worst! Just because you've purchased and expensive parking ticket doesn't mean you'll get a spot! Scholarships are rare, unless you're a basketball player or a genius.

me being all alone, because im in lawrence i really dont have family around to hang out with, my friends always have school work or have boyfriends. Im always alone and i never have anything to do. but like they say, it's better to be alone than with soomeone i dont like at all.

If you don't find and pick out the right classes, they will be too crowded and that will make it harder to learn.

The absolutely worst thing about KU is the parking situation. There are more students and faculty on campus everyday than there are parking spots. "Love taps" and cracked bumpers are daily occurances while people try to squeeze into spots that are too small. Parking Department oversells parking stickers, so it is a real mess.

I think some of the classes are too large. This semester alone, I have three classes with over three hundred people in each.

The parking and ticket bundles. They would oversell on both parking passes and ticket bundles and then say its the students risk of buying either one. The ticket bundles were in a lottery drawing for so many available every game, and having to wait an entire day in line to get one. The lots have only so many stalls, and always full. The school would put up advisories of overselling, but never stopped or attempted any resolution of easing the parking pandemic. They kept making money by overselling parking passes.
