A person who should not attend this school is someone who does not want to go far in their life, someone who does not take school very seriously. At Kentucky we strive to succeed. Another person who should not go to this school is someone who has no school spirit or love for their college. We are big on school spirit and are constantly wearing our blue and white.

Honestly there isnt a specific type of person that I would imagine to attend the University of Kentucky. There are hundreds of clubs and groups to get involved in so whoever you are or whatever you like then there is a place for you at this school. Someon who would particularly like this school would be someone I would imagine that likes being at a big campus with alot of people, alwayshaving something to do, and that is passionate about school spirit and the athletics program of the school.

A person that does not understand the amount of work it takes to be have a successful collegiate career will not fair well at the University of Kentucky. Committment and dedication are of the utmost importance because you will be challenged and you will be questioned, and only the ones that are truly prepared and possess that almost mythical inner willpower will be the ones with more than just a degree. If a person isn't ready for such an endeavor then they should seek other institutions.

The University of Kentucky is a great school that has many different programs. Therefore, it is a school that will fit many types of students. However, one type of student that may not enjoy attending UK is one that wants to go to school in a “small” environment. There are many students at UK and the student to professor ratio is pretty high. UK is in one of the most populated cities in Kentucky. If a student did not put forth an effort to become involved, it would be easy for them to feel lost in a sea of people.

I think the University of Kentucky is perfect for all students. Although it is a big school, even shy people can find a way to fit in. The professors are so welcoming, that even classes of 300 people feel small. It's perfect for those looking for something new, wanting to work hard, and who enjoy making new friends.

The extreme "loner" should not attend this school. Don't get me wrong, I deffinitelly enjoy my alone time but so much of campus life is spent with large groups of people and you meet so many new people everday that you would feel uncomfortable in the social environment. For some it is something you get used to, you learn how to come out of your shell, all as a part of the "college experience". But if that's not you, don't force it.

I believe that UK offers much to each student that attends the school. Whether you are interested in fraternity/sororities, clubs, volunteer work, eveything is offered and encouraged. UK is such a big university there is really not a type of person that shouldn't attend this school. UK has opportunities for everyone. There are organizations for minorities so that they don't feel out of place. If your not into the school spirit nobody will kick you out. The only type of person that shouldn't attend would be someone with no dedication and is just going to mope around and bring other students down with them. I haven't seen anybody like that on campus though, and it is always a great place to be.

There's a lot of middle-upperclass whites here, but there's a fair amount of african americans as well. If you're the kind of person who doesn't shop at American Eagle, Aeropostle, Abercrombie, etc then you might feel a little out of place at UK. I don't see too many people who shop at Hot Topic here. If you're into art or computer animation/graphics, you're also possibly looking at the wrong school. Or Japanese. You want to learn Japanese, do not come here.
