The University of Kentucky is extremely school spirited. The basketball program is well known nation wide. There's a huge fan base as well as an extremely loyal alumni association.

It is conveneient for me to go home and the students here have so much school pride.

The University of Kentucky is really diverse. People of all types are welcome and accepted here. Diversity is a priority.

I was accepted to universities across the country and chose to attend the University of Kentucky because of its opportunities. I was able to be in a place where traditional and history were taken very seriously but not the level of narrow mindedness. Personal opinions different from the normal were not only celebrated but they were accepted. My biology professor continually spoke of the "diverse portfolio" of even a single organism but also of the entire surrounding ecosystem. He wasn't just speaking about a coral reef but also the ecology of my university.

Although the campus is huge and theres almost 30,000 students attending, there are many resourses that are for your benefit to succeed in college. The Study, along with free tutors and the Hub, are just a few of these resources that have really helped me get through my freshman year. I've noticed the faculty really does care if you succeed in college and in life, and they're willing to do whatever it takes for you to get to where you want to be.

My school has such big school spirit yet with a small school feel.

There is a ton of school spirit. Faculty and staff not only care about the students' success but personally too.

Kentucky had an excellent medical program. It really was a great choice for someone who wanted to continue on to graduate school because they took special consideration if you were an undergraduate with them. Since I wanted to be a physical therapist I found this fact a great one for an in state school which was also a unique factor for me to consider since I do not have a lot of money for college in state was a really important criteria for me to narrow down my choices with.

UK has a really nice, beautiful campus and we get all 4 seasons. And the city around campus is really nice, too. There's lots of trees and grass and flowers, but also lots of shopping areas. It's really nice.

There is a very strong sense of community and school spirit here at the University of Kentucky. We take great pride in our basketball program and our alumni also has very strong ties to the university. Graduating from UK does not mean leaving it behind for most alumni, they continue to finacially support the school and athletics department. Also, UK is devoted to becoming a top research college and doing everything in our power to achieve a top 20 status.

The University of Kentucky is unique because it is the Big Blue Nation. School spirit is something that every student at UK possesses and flaunts as much as possible. Mostly this is due to Kentucky Basketball, which is the arguably the most loved basketball program in the nation. The love for the school and this program is something that can’t be explained because it is something so extraordinary. It is literally impossible for a student to attend UK and not be a diehard wildcat fan before their departure.

What is most unique about my school is how everyone comes together as a group to support our sports teams and each other, everyone at my school is very nice and welcoming, if you need help with anything you are able to ask someone who is walking past you and they will stop to help you. something else others didn't know about the University of Kentucky is that we have the best fans in the enitre world..

Tight-knit , hometown feel and community.

When i toured UK's campus, it seemed very friendly. Students walked by out tour group and smiled and said hello. This just seemed like the campus i wanted to be at. All the other campuses were not as friendly. I felt like i fit in here better than other campuses.

The thing that stood out to me the most about UK was the William C. Schlorship. It was the only school in Kentucky that was close to home but also far enough, that provided a way for me to pay for school. It was like having my cake and eating it too.

The campus is much like its own community, and I didn't get that feeling on other campus's.

University of Kentucky is a very welcoming school. All the staff and older students go out of their way to make sure that incoming students get involved, so they dont get lost in the huge campus. The teachers make sure that help is always available if you are struggling in class, there is so many programs available to help you achieve the grade you want in every class.

One unique characteristic about the University of Kentuckyy is that the city of Lexington revolves around the university. UK is very active in the surrounding communities with community service and businesses. Politicians often want to know where the university and its students stand for major decisions.

I wanted to go to a college town, go away to college, I wanted the college experience. UK was the only away college I applied to and when I took a tour of the place it was such a beautiful clean campus tucked away amidst the city of Lexington. I was excited about all the new-ness of going to this school, starting over and making new friends. All that seemed possible, along with getting a degree in four years in an environment that wanted me to suceed.

UK is a fairly large campus. I didn't think that I would enjoy it, but I do. Not only do I get my daily exercise from walking to class, but I get to enjoy the beautiful scenery that UK's campus has to offer. Also, UK has one of the largest libraries in Kentucky. This is where everyone goes to work on last minute projects, papers, or just to hang out in a study group. UK is great.

There are a very diverse student population from all ove the 50 states. Most schools have students from around the area.

Its a lot larger than most of the others.

There is an extreme amount of school spirit.

There is a diversity of students from all over the world. There are many clubs and activities for anyone to get involved in no matter what they are interested in.

The most unique thing about the University of Kentucky is the basketball hype. Fans wait all year for the first open practice called "Midnight Madness"; people even camp out for days just to get tickets to this event. Every game, Rupp Arena is filled, and people all over campus gather in restaurants, bars, and houses just to watch the games (even if we are horrible that year)!

The University of Kentucky offers students a real-world living environment because of its location in the heart of Lexington. Many other schools that I considered in Kentucky were located in more rural cities, which naturally changes the living situation for students. The University of Kentucky allows students to live off campus in a home or apartment of their choice, while still being a part of the University, as well as the city itself.

I thought UK would be an inclusive opportunity with lots of opportunities. But instead, the university has practically ZERO options for job placement, and has no concern for its students as anything more than a tuition payment.

My school is very diverse and provides an equal learning opportunity for everyone that attends. My school is very large but also is full of professors at the top of their professions. My school is unique because I have the opportunity to be anything that I want. I can accomplish any dream in any subject by attending the University of Ky.

Unlike other school's in it's liking, the University of Kentucky is moving, chasing after that which will put it in front of the rest.

Students love their sports teams.

It's a good in-state university. For the price I'm getting just as good and education (if not better as an Art Major) as one from UC Berkeley (my first choice). Very big campus for City Population; more than 30,000 students in a city of a little over 100,000 (most residents of Lexington were/are UK students). Very advanced medical department.

School spirit.

Nothing to big really that unique. When attending a big school it is hard to have the closeness that smaller schools have. If I had to answer I would say athletic events. Football and basketball seasons are pretty crazy here at UK.

UK can either be the best years of your life, or the longest years of your life. You will literally get out of UK what you want and nothing else.

All is good except I'm really not happy about the new hotel taking over our block downtown :-(
