I feel that the University of Louisiana at Monroe represents a very diverse group of students. I feel as though most of the students at this school are mainly focused on getting out of college or scared to leave home. Most of us don't really care about impressing people with clothes or whatever but some may feel that way. We have a large international student population which is great! We have people from all over the world which is awesome. Most of the students though are from the South especially Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. I feel as though there are all types of students: studiers, partiers, and the athletes. We have so many campus organizations that unless you just stay at home all the time it is hard to not have friends. Like I said we have so many organizations that people from all backgrounds are in each group which is great to meet new people and be around others that have a common passion.

Tiffany

I associate mainly with black students, but I enjoy socializing with people of other racial backgrounds. I have attended BCM (Baptist Church Ministries) events and I have enjoyed the people. There are many LGBT people on campus and some of them are my friends. Greek like is big on campus and we all get along. No student would feel out of place and ULM because we are so diverse. Different types of students interact, but I would love for it to happen more often. If there were four tables in the cafe there would be a table of Greeks, jocks, geeks, and goths. Most students that attend here are from nearby cities such as Shreveport, Alexandria, Tallulah, and of course Monroe. Students often speak about their goals and what they want out of life.
