What are your classes like?

Any course taught by a department head and/or foreign-born professor was challenging. No, I'm NOT racist, I'm just telling the truth based on my experience. 75-85{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} were easy, though, and easy to obtain As and Bs in.

As a biology and philosophy double major, the classes I have taken are all across the board. I have taken a broad range of classes in the arts and sciences. Some have been large lectures, but others have been very small classes of about 15 students. Since you schedule classes yourself, it is up to you to decide what kind of class sizes fit your needs better. I have found that smaller classes are a lot more personal and you have a better opportunity to get to know the professors. As far as workload, it is a big difference from college. I was very successful in high school, and I am on scholarship at UofL. However, I still didn't feel prepared for how fast paced college classes are. It's definitely an adjustment, but once you learn how to manage your time, it gets much easier. I have also found that it is useful to take classes in the summer, if you are able to do so. It has allowed me to take harder classes and dedicate more time to them. It also has given me more credit hours, putting me ahead.

The classes here are wonderful and very invigorating. Depending on how interested you are in getting a good grade, the professors are always willing to help both inside and outside of class.. All professors I have had are all willing to hold office hours and schedule appointments with you regarding anything. I am very actively involved on campus and sometimes have to miss class. If I send my professors an email before I miss, they are always willing to catch me up on the things I missed and make sure I understand the things that were covered in class. Most professors that I have had, even ones who I thought wouldn't even recognize I was in their class, see me on campus and greet me by name. I love the environment in the classrooms and the willingness of the professors to help you at all times!

The classes here are pretty good, I'd have to say. The schedules tend to work out great for most students, and the classes are a proper length. A lot of students here end up having at least one day off each week after their freshman year (except engineering students, I'm jealous of the rest of campus). All in all, we've got some great teachers and some awesome classes. I highly suggest it here.
