I personally really enjoy the University, it is a really safe and small campus. The professors are great and really help you out when needed. You know most people around it is a very small community, and if you like small classroom sizes and friendly people it's great. I'd also say within the school it is very diverse many students from all over the place, and many friendly faces.
UMFK is a small diverse community in which you feel safe anywhere you go. The Nursing program is tremendous and the professors are always available to talk with!
I have honestly had an amazing experience at this college. The professors are easy to talk to and are really open to helping you pursue any career you have your mindset on. They will help you set realistic goals and allow you opportunities to successfully complete these goals.

I love learning, and I love being in school, especially here at UMFK. I had looked at a few different schools, but finally decided on UMFK because of its size, location, and reputable nursing program. The decision to come here was one that I will never regret. I have had two of the best years of my life so far, and I have been very involved with sports and campus and community activities. Although UMFK is pretty isolated here in Northern Maine, we have students from all over the world, and that adds so much depth to our campus community. I have met some great people, been able to travel all over the country with the basketball and soccer teams, been exposed to so many new things, built personal relationships with professors and other faculty members, and all while getting one of the best nursing educations New England has to offer. Attending college has helped me discover who I really am, and everyday I am learning something new, something I can take with me through the rest of my journey of life.
The amount of effort they put in to help us.
Our school is a small school in a small northern town, because of our small size we are a very close knitt student body.
They are very diverse individuals.
Although many students say that the worst thing about the school is how small it is. I disagree with them and believe it's the best part of the University. I enjoy everything about the University. There are tutors available, financial aid, and everyone is very helpful. I would have to say there is not one thing I dislike about the University of Maine at Fort Kent.
UMFK is an ideal school for someone who likes the small town charm and being outdoors. Fort Kent always has something exciting going on, and it's a great community to be involved with. There are limited options for entertainment but that is not necessarily a draw back, especially for the more serious student. The school has a close-knit environment, the teachers are very approachable, and the other staff are always friendly. The programs are top notch and it is a perfect environment for learning. If that's what you are looking for, come to Fort Kent!
The best thing about my school is the community. It is a small community where people are always willing to "lend a hand" and help others in such extraordinary ways. People are friendly to each other and always share a smile and they pass each other in the halls.
I tell my friends that not only does UMFK have a great nursing program, but it also has one of the highest graduate percentages for its students versus other schools in the area. It has been in the Princeton Review for the nursing program and is one of the best in all of New England. Along with the great opportunity as a student I am also an athlete and UMFK has growing success in the athletic program as well.
There is not one person that should not attend this school. This University accepts any person in any shape, size, color, gender. It does not matter who you are, there is nobody telling you that you are not able to attend this school.
The University of Maine Fort Kent is known for the Nursing program and its soccer team. The nursing program has an incredible system that incorportates making sure that students are passing their classes and learning from the classes to prepare them for the NCLEX that comes at the end of the four years. They create higher standards for nursing students then they do for other career majors. Then they can weed out the people who are not going to succeed as nurses or who is not exactly ready to be a nurse with responsibility.
That there isn't alot to do in Fort Kent, even though they tell you there is.
