I really enjoy living on campus at UMHB, The university of Mary Hardin-Baylor, all of my professors all have their own office hours that they keep on a tight schedule. All of my professors are also very open to helping you if you are having issues, they're opening say to talk to them if you are experiencing anything and need help.

Rachel - 03/30/2023

The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is the perfect school for me. There are lots of different clubs to join, and everyone is very caring and outgoing. The class sizes are smaller than what you would get at a larger school, and that means the teachers are able to help you out more if there is a problem. It is also a very Christian oriented school, and that is an aspect that I personally value a lot.

Melany - 02/18/2023

I love the spiritual life and focus on nursing at UMHB! There is fun to be had but also a time to get work done. I wish there were a bigger emphasis and spotlight on diversity and multicultural life. Attending this university is also costly so more scholarship awards would be a big help to students as well.

Emma - 11/28/2022

I really enjoy attending the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. One of my favorite things is how your professors know your name and care about you. UMHB also has very nice facilities and you can tell that they are constantly growing and improving. There is also a very welcoming campus feel.

University of Mary Hardin-Baylor FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at University of Mary Hardin-Baylor?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is 78%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Get a goddamn license, find a car, and go to where you (we? I?) know you would have liked to go. If the school I actually did go to is any indicator, you'll do just fine if you rely on yourself and don't expect anyone else to pick up the slack. You come from a long line of hard workers, the blood in your heart knows what to do. Remember to make time to read and sleep and write, don't let your greatest talent rust over. Be strong and courageous, never falter in support of your friends, always comfort them, never be a burden. Your greatest challenge will be the people around you. Visit the family more; you mean the world to them. Things are about to go to shit, you can already tell. Be like a rock, solid and firm. Your brothers and mother depend on it. Also, waste no time in losing weight and growing a beard, once you do that you'll finally be able to look in the mirror and smile. That helps.

  14. What are the academics like at your school?

The main sections that UMHB really excels at are Christian Studies, Nursing, and Teaching. For anything else i really suggest you go to another school. I'm not downing UMHB but it's really expensive. If you decide you want to front the bill in a case of a Business, or Accounting degree you are really just paying for the community and teacher to student ratio. (which isn't bad ur just not receiving UMHB in all its glory)

  15. What is your overall opinion of this school?

UMHB is located in Belton TX where there is not too much to do so we are stuck being creative and making things up (which can be just as fun if not better). We have a small movie theatre (The Beltonian) which has either cheap or free movies showing (and yes they are up-to-date new releases). Other than that we have Wal-Mart (lol) and Austin only 45 minutes away. Lots of first year complaints have come from the rules that are put in place on campus (no drinking, period, no guys in girls dorms or vice-versa unless posted times), but its really not that bad. At least the dorm that i'm in (McLane) the staff isn't out to get you.

  16. What is the stereotype of students at your school?

UMHB students are very outgoing and friendly. UMHB is a place where everyone knows each other. Not in the since of let me into your personal bubble and gossip, but because it is such a small school you build community with everyone you know. Most students have a heart for God (or at least want to) but if you don't that's ok too. UMHB is a place of learning influenced by God but understand too non-christians ARE welcome!

  17. What are the most popular student activities/groups?

There is ALWAYS something going on at UMHB to do. We have CAB (Campus Activities Board) that puts on all different kinds of events. Pretty much on a weekly basis you can find something to do. We have Stunt Night which is kinda like a Saturday Night Live, where each class gets to put on a funny skit and we get to judge it via txt voting. There is just to much to list.

  18. Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?

For the most part... We have a small crowd of people that like to do the partying and drinking seen (which is against school policy FYI). But for the most part everyone has a good head on their shoulders.
