The school is best known for its Southern Baptist influence. UMHB is located in Belton, Texas. Belton is located in the Bible Belt, so there is a strong Southern Baptist influence there. Students familiar with Southern Baptist Churches and those comfortable in that environment, will enjoy the atmosphere of the school more. People from other faiths are welcome to attend.
