My classes are very interesting but extremely challenging! Because I am Pre-Med, I am taking mostly sciences classes. The intro courses were filled with 300-400 people. As you go further into your major, people might drop out and the class sizes get a lot smaller! Professors have office hours and I highly recommend using that resource!
It really depends on the professor and the level of the class as well as the students in it. Some of the 400 level classes for Philosophy Department sometimes are held in the Philosophy Conference Room, where there is literally no more than 7-9 students congregating about Philosophy. I love it!
The classes are easy but hard at the same time. There is no class at UMBC you can just sit there come to class text and do no homework and pass. You have to do ALL of the work in order to pass with flying colors.
